Should i come back?

I played FFXI back about 2 years ago and loved it i am currently debating coming back and or playing AOC

Is the community still striving? How hard is it to find group? What servers are populated? And most importantly are rangers still alright in parties? Ah also is there a way to update the graphics?

    No.

I came back and quit within a week. Saiyanara $30. You MIGHT end up liking it but you'll have to sacrifice your life to do so.

Fairy. It wasn't just looking for parties that plagued the game. The combat mechanics felt really clunky and there were VERY few abilities to use. I liked the community, the graphics and atmosphere but without something to look forward to an MMORPG dies. Not a bad game but it's 2008, many years after it was made. Wait for Warhammer online if you like PvP or just play WoW for raiding (although it has no incentive... not much I can say about that).

It's 2008 and still one of the most played MMO's. It's not dying anytime soon if it hasn't already. You didn't get very far if you think there are no abilities, for SAM no less. They have pretty much the most abilities in the game. BLM has almost the most spells. Just like in any RPG you don't start out with the strongest abilities and spells, you work for them.

    Yes.

It's not that hard depending on the job. Treasures of Aht Urghan and Wings of the Goddess expansions made exping mid to upper levels much easier now.

All of the servers are populated, some are overpopulated like Odin. You'd want to stay away from there. Places like Kujata and such are still just as populated as they were in the past.

    RNG's got a boost, they're still the big DD's.

There is a post here somewhere to make them look better. Here it is... http://mmorpg.com/discussion2.cfm/thread/184460

hmmm alrighty well how long do you think it would take to lvl my new char up into at least the 30s are lowbie grouping areas still populated?

  • SatimasuSatimasu Member UncommonPosts: 900

It really depends. My wife has leveled about 3 different jobs on two different character all the way in the 20's and one in the 30's in a pretty short amount of time. I'd say like in a week or so. I wouldn't think you'd have much trouble.
