Downloading troubles, the worst has come!

I used to play Fiesta all the time (along with a few other mmos) but we had to get a new computer, with this idiotic vista. Vista is for some reason blocking downloads. We can not download anything. When I click a download link or button an error message pops up saying internet explorer is restarting.
I have no idea what to do, we have called our computers company and our internet provider and both have no idea what to do either.
I play zootycoon2 and you are able to download user made animals, to get my animals a friend of mine sends them from his computer to mine over msn. Yes these animals are free for everyone to use, so it's not illegal. Can I do the same with a game like Fiesta, or is that against the law, or will the game not work correctly?
I really miss playing all my mmos, summer has been so boring without them.
Any ideas on how to fix this, or at least download around it?

fiesta is f2p right? if it is there is no problem he has to send you the installer and not the game directory, i recomend skype as it will go allot faster sending the file

i have no idea, i need more info then just w/e could be vista, could be network drivers, could be vista with network drivers, did ya try running in administrator mode, did ya get the newest drivets, do you have a router, can you download through programs or no is it just downloading via browser did ya try other browsers, is it not allowing downloads or do they start without actually doing anything ect ect ect
Many questions, go from the basics and work up.
Welcome to trouble shooting, a skill that should be taught in school.
I'm 15, I have no idea at all how to fix this nor do I know a terrible lot about computers nor the internet set up. I can't download so I can't get firefox or anything else to try out new browsers.
If it can't be fixed, is it possible for someone on here to send me the downloader from their computer, or is it not?
