Finally theres someone who's addressing this issue!  but whats crazy about it is that its not just Xbox live its EVERYWHERE! lol Its things like this that don't make me wanna play online.  like he said about "getting a group of your friends together and lock the room away because they know how to act" it should never really come to that.. I for one enjoy playing with people from around the would but this crap is getting old lol How do you all feel about this issue?

Does he always sound like that, or did he have too much caffeine that morning?

I mean, like, wow man, was he really wound up. Talking a mile a minute, complete with hyper-animated gestures.

I remember some people questioning why there were "gay friendly" guilds formed.

Yeah, shit like that is the reason why I only play with people that I already know.

Of course, this wasn't as a big of a problem before VOIP was in every game. Back when people had to type at each other, it was easy to just /ignore people that were acting like asshats. Now you have to listen to everybody.

It's not so bad on Ventrillo or Teamspeak where you can mute people, but there doesn't seem to be a way to do this in games with built in VOIP. I've never been on XBox Live, but  what I've been told by people who have is that you can't mute individual players. If that's true, then Microsoft totally dropped the ball. If we could mute people and they were informed that they were being ignored, we might have some way to limit this kind of behavior.

Civilization has always been a thin veneer over the monsters that lie beneath. I'm not sure why anyone should be surprised by this, particularly when you lower the barriers of entry into some field or endevour. Back when you had to type everything, it at least took some marginal effort to be an ass, now it doesn't. Hence, you get not only jerks, but lazy jerks as well.

    C'est la vie.
