What kind of MMORPG would you like to see?

Ive played alot of the mmorpg's out there, well the major ones i should point out, and i myself would like to see a mech worrior kind of mmorpg. I dont know about you guys but something like that would peak my interest. One with good PVP and missions where you can upgrade you mechs as well as the pilots skills, good clans with the whole sphere thing going on also. Now if only i was a programer and could do those things....AHHHH...alas i am not so i have to wait till someone who is figures it out!

Now what other kinds? Or if you like my idea keep goin with it! Would you like to see?

I have had this idea forever but I would like to make an mmorpg western game. You know like a third person shooter/rpg game. You could have duels, play cards, get drunk yahhhhimage! You could play as an indian or human, you could have cowboy and indian fights, you could flirt with the chicks. I also thought that when you get a gun in the game you really suck at shooting at the begining. So you are going to miss a lot and fall on your feet from the blast. But when you get good at firing you can start doing cool tricks will your gun and fire straight.

tell me what you guys think if you really like it you cansend me an email at DATERMINATOR@mailblocks.comimage

Lol the closest thing you'll get to that is eq2 :P. Some of the dungeons in that game will be pritty creepy , it may not look that way by screen shots , but when ur actaully playing and you see the A.I moveing around its pritty cool lol. Just like in the later expansions of eq , man they did a good job with the immersiveness and realism of there monsters.

I would love to see a good vampire MMORPG too, something more present day with the supernatural twist.  It needn't even be mainly vampire, i could go for something with a bit of ghost hunting, the odd visit to the demonic realms.....   hmmm actually maybe the 1920s would have a better atmosphere for that.....

Anyways. My idea is already in the works, so i won't get started with that. I agree with Nooblet though, a Peter Pan mmorpg would be sick.

Chaosium's Cthulhu rpg as an MMO.

If your listening game designers, woudl you please please please make a Shadowrun MMORPG. Think about it, a city ripe with technology. Gangs hold cetain teritory, you have to go to contacts to get mission. I mean it would be like the runaway hit City of Hereos except with, *Gasp* content. The rules are friggen there, Microsoft even owns the friggen rights, so you've already got a publisher. What more do you want. Just go over to bill, get the go ahead and make the friggen thing. Since there really aren't any cyber punk mmo's, (if you excusse the ageing Anarcy online, which isn't as much cyber punk as it is Sci-fi) out there you've practactly got the market corned.

Ah, that's why I love this site - crazy people sayin' crazy things. Made my day!

    Moving on...

"Ive played alot of the mmorpg's out there, well the major ones i should point out, and i myself would like to see a mech worrior kind of mmorpg."

They used to have one. It was originally on GEnie, then on the web, then on... EAs site? It eventually got cancelled.

Right now the actual "Mechwarrior" MMORPG rights are probably in dispute between two or three companies - Microsoft being one of them. They probably have the best claim, though, seeing as they purchased FASA interactive.

Personally, I'd just like to see a decently-done mech game for the PC. The last one I REALLY enjoyed was Mechwarrior 2: Mercenaries.

I would like to see a Chrono Trigger or Zelda MMORPG. Both of those games are classics imo, and would make good MMORPGs.. Speaking of CT, I dont think an MMORPG has ever done the traveling time thing.

    ---------------------------------
    Long Term MMO's Played:
    Ultima Online - 3 Years
Dark Age of Camelot - 3 Years

    Less Than 1 Month:
    Shadowbane, Planetside
    Everquest, Ragnarok Online
City of Heroes, Star Wars Galaxies
    Horizons, Fung Wan Online
    The Sims Online, EVE Online

    -----------------------------------
    | Final Fantasy | Free iPod |

My dream MMORPG would be a modern-day setting with heavy FPS elements. I leave my definition broad, because the whole MMO sector needs more twitch based games. Planetside is too simple and shallow, WWIIOL is somewhat good but needlessly complex, and the upcoming "Outpost" seems like it was formed in the mind of a twelve year old during lunch break.

But I guess old habits die hard. ::::10::

Time traveling... interesting setting for a mmorpg.

Combining both sci-fi and fantasy (and everything in between) into one mmorpg.... sounds pretty cool.

There's an interesting story about the Star Trek MMORPG. Do a net search on the subject for all the details.

And, yes, that would be great.

I would like to see a "Lost Tech" type mmo. Its been done many times in Console games, but I've never seen a -big- mmo do it.

What I mean by Lost Tech is the type where you're on a planet where there used to be some supreme race with tons of uberneato toys. By some unknown event - they were wiped off the planet and you and those around you are all in some struggle to gain control and knowledge over there 'artifacts' for ultimate world powah!

It could even have factions where each is after the artifacts for a different purpose, hence the conflict and PvP. Gaining the 'artifacts' would give you a slight benefit over your enemies like relics in DAoC.

But I've always wanted to run in to a demolished, rusty, moss and vine covered, creaking factory left untouched for thousands of years in a now flourishing forest or wetland with my sword and have some giant robot with gatling gun arms try to gun me down to guard some unknown technology that could be the secret to immortality or Granny's recipe for Low Fat Chocolate Brownies.
