What cpu and ram can I upgrade too?

According to crucialramupgrades, I have an asus p5b deluxe, which can have 8 gigs of ram, and I believe this has a 775 cpu socket?

What I am wondering is what kind of ram can I put in my computer ( any links aswell?)

What processors can i have in my computer? Which ones would be best for gaming? (I have a 1.8 ghz intel dual core at the moment, my rig is just for gaming, gaming processor links for my motherboard?)

you pretty much answer your own question (though i thought crucial also told you what kind of ram was in use).

just go to newegg.com (or wherever really) and look @ processors and sort by socket type.

ditto on the ram but sort by speed (ddr2 800).

i suggest avoiding more than 2 cores honestly because there is just no use for them at the moment in the realm of gaming, and the prices are still kinda high for something that just adds shine to your e-peen. mind you also that unless you are using a 64 bit o/s you wont be using 8 gigs of ram, so you might need to upgrade your o/s.

personally i think the biggest thing you can do if you haven't already is upgrade the crossfire setup.

...so based on that any dual core, even 45nm will be fine. maybe check the asustek user forums and see what type of ram other users prefer. i'm not sure what quad doesn't have a fsb of 1333/1066/800/533

Yeh, apparently, the websites were wrong and I have an asus p5b- not deluxe, which aparently can still hold 8 gigs of ram and not support quad core etc, and features the intel p965 chipset and 775 socket, but what I need to know is, how much can i upgrade my processor? I have a 1.8 ghz dual core now, is there any limit I can go up too? Is there a maximum dual core anyway? ( cant see anything about one having the most ghz on their site) And any product names for what I can get?

from that (i eliminated server processors since...well you most likely wont need that) i gather theres 3 dual core cessors you could use that are 3+ghz. (there may be more but they are not in stock). if your board cant support 4 cores definately dont get 4 cores (imho dont get 4 cores anyways because by the time we need them for gaming it will be time to upgrade again anyways no doubt). i guess i would go with the fastest dual core and a third party cooling kit .  example:

i find that as long as you dont get a 12$ no-name 1 they drop the temp way better than any stock one (i use scythe and gigabyte in my machines). if you are in the uk i apologize but i dont think newegg ships there and i cant remember the name of the place my friend bought ALL his gear.
