Trying to remember the name of a game.

It's been a very long time since this game came out, and I never played it either.

 

I was sitting in a book store reading through strategy guides when I came across one that said it was the 4x game of the year. 

 

The only thing I can remember besides the above was that before you could launch your colony ship you had to choose what supplies to take with you and you had to budget your cargo space. You could take items like hot or cold reactors and both types had their pros and cons, what you chose and where you eventually landed could potentially cripple you. It was a space and colonization game obviously.

 

I really can't remember much more than this.

 

Any ideas?

I've only done a trial, but I know "Eve" has cargo space that you have to budget.

Neither Eve nor EnB are "4X" games, and they're far from it.

 

 Examples of 4X games are MOO2 and 3, Sword of the Stars, Imperium Galactica etc.

I see, I was assuming this would be an MMO since you know we are in an mmo board... so you might want to try gaming sites such as gamespot, ign etc to get your answer. That being said with a little investigating on wiki I managed to understand what the hell 4X ment as well as a list of games that is 4X, so take a browse through that and see if you can pin-point it. I wish you luck.

It's all good I'm not saying don't post it here, I'm saying you'd get better results if you go to a site that has a crowd that deals with games in general. At any rate I gave you a list of every 4X game out it can't be hard to find it now, just do some digging and reading.
