TOE Changes

We'll be bringing down the live server for reset today at around 12:00 noon CST (approx.) which is 6:00pm GMT (approx.) ... it will be down for a short time (can't say exactly how long because we have to reload all database fields for the new brigades and ToE's while it is down, and it has to be done manually) .... when it comes back up again we have to manually place both town ownerships and div/brigades since we have no pre-planned or scripted placements for the set-up we have decided to start the "mini-campaign" look weekend setting.

This will mean the arena will be locked for a short time while we move stuff around the old fashioned way.

We are not employing a "Muese river valley" start set-up obviously. Instead we will place both sides around the new Nijmegen region and draw a line from there. this is why we have to do a "manual" movement style reset.

We apologize ahead of time for the delays you will witness while we do this. We will make any such delay as short as we possibly can. We thank you for your patience in the meantime. Any HC that are not "aking a break" are most welcome to come in and assist us while we are moving brigades around, but please, ask us first before doing anything.

Just so that you have an inkling of the ToE changes this brings, here is what you will find:-

HQ Division (supply):

Does not contain more than a basic resupply amount of all available ground units. You can use them to resupply attritted brigades (either armour or infantry) under their associated Div.HQ or to oversupply brigades that are not yet attritted. Perhaps supply columns will make some degree of comeback with differentiated infantry/armour brigade ToEs.

Div.HQ (supply) lists will not be anywhere close to large enough to risk in confrontation with either a regular infantry brigade or a regular (new) armour brigade.

Brigades (both types):

There are two infantry centric brigades under each Army (supply) Division HQ; they have some basic (biased to the lighter stuff) armour but not very much, they have more AA guns, AT guns, ATR's and Mortars than they previously did.

There will be one armour centric brigade under each Army (supply) Division HQ; they have all the available armour you would previously have had under all the non differentiated ToE setup you have been using priorto today. It's just all in a single (armour) brigade now. The armour brigade can be identified by the word (Armor) in parenthesis after it's name in the OrBat. We will change the names to reflect this betterin the future, but that's a gigantic code and database rewrite (seems silly but it's true all the same) so we had to make do foir now or not make the change. We thought it was the right time to go ahead with it.

Armored brigades have some infantry, but only about 20% of what you would find in an infantry brigade.

These new changes apply only to ARMY brigades and divisions ... there is no change to the air or naval branche ToEs at this time.

This should be a fun, exciting and interesting weekend with all the new stuff. We'll be starting off already in a full tier 3 "environment" equipment wise, kind of like the later phase of a live campaign. All normal rules are in effect. after we have collected all the data and impressions we can over a weekends play, we will assess what we have learned and apply that to the start of Campaign #45 next week, where any such data might be applicable. We'll know on Monday what the situation is better than we do now of course, these are signifigant changes we have brought to the game in patch 1.28.5 ... we hope you enjoy them a lot.

From Monday, our plan is to start Campaign #45 ASAP. If the weekend goes well, we should be able to do this on Monday itself. So have fun over the weekend, try all the new gameplay/features/stuff out ... enjoy yourself, and we'll see how everything pans out for all of us, you and CRS alike. Come Monday, we'll know what the deal is and so will you guys.

S! and see you on the Mue... err no .... on the Bridge at Nijmegen.
