Bored of EVE what else is there?

Ok so I been playing eve-online for a good six months, seen what it has to offer and need a brake (just raking up the skills)...

but thing is when you play eve you feel detatched, just a ship that you point and shoot, I want swords, axes power deamons... well maybe not so much the daemon but you get the idea..

Would prefer a free to play MMORPG...

Now to explain more what I have found to like..

Eve is a good sandbox, but that I see as a downfall, its just too big!!

I like most of the community on there its like a living breathing 'world' politics, economics wars manufacturing.....the list goes on

Now I like the idea of crafting but not specialized, more being a warrior and creating your own uber weapon to go kill with

as for pvp or pve, I like both, but more leaning towards pve, as it can be frustrating (Griefers etc)...

Having said that I like the look of LotRO, but you can only be the good guys and that sucks IMO

I'll post my pc specs so you'll have some idea what I can cant run

3ghz Dual core P4, 1GB ram, and PNY 8400GS graphics (yes its due a major update)

Oh and I didnt think much of AoC either... hope thats enough info for you guys.......

shhh... you might wake the trolls

Hi welcome to community. Since you don't appear to be overly biased towards sandbox gaming that opens up your options. Go ahead and checkout the mmorpg list on the site and try the different games like Guild Wars, etc

ah yes that reminds me, I prefer more solo rewarding games, nothing worst than pretty much being forced to work with other people (no offence to 'the other people')

I think I tried guildwars, but gave up after 5 minutes when found a mission requiring a 'team-mate'

shhh... you might wake the trolls

Strange poll you threw in there, I still cast a vote for "Lag". What gamer hates anything more than lag?

Anyways, you're saying that you thought Eve had TOO much to do. Well then, you're looking for something on a smaller spectrum.

I'm thinking something like Shaiya, Dream of Mirror Online, Requiem (These are the few games I find enjoyable that are all Free to Play).

There are other games that are voted high which I do not like, but you might! Twelve Sky, 2Moons, Pirate King Online, Flyff, Maple Story. (None of these I vouche for, but plenty of people do).

Well that was stupid... That is pretty much the only mission that has that requirement all you have to do is get someone to join your party, step outside the town and hey presto mission over...  And hell you don't even have to do it, get the skill in another quest later or just buy it...

Guild Wars is *the* mmo if you wanna solo.

*edit: Actually there's only two forced-group quest, the tutorial party one and an optional quest with nothing going for it =p*

Yes I would agree that if you want to solo on a game then Guild Wars is the game to do so on. You can go through almost the whole game without every talking to anyone. Just use henchmen and mercs and you are good to go. (I have done it countless times). But if you want to party with people then there is always someone on to party with. From doing Underworld to Guild pvp. Try out Guild Wars just no parties needed.

If you want swords, axes, and deamons, that's like 90% of the MMO's on the market. Take a stab in the dark and you're bound to find a MMO that has those features.
