Looking for Everquest 1 (2000) Type game

Hey guys, I just recently ordered a new computer and Im ready to get off my Xbox and start playing MMORPG's again.  Im looking for a Pay to play game.

Ive played :

EQ2, WoW, FFXI, CoV, CoH,Matrix Online, Planetside etc..

(Ive played all the SONY MMORPGS pretty much)

 

Out of all of them my favorite was Everquest 1, I learned from my uncle in 1999, and started playing at the age of 11 in 2000, It was fun awsome and I loved the way how you had to RP to play.  Thats the kind of game im looking for, I really dont want to go back to it because Its changed so much.

 

Games I dont want to play:

WoW

FFXI

CoV

CoH

MxO

 

Im looking for a really good game, Group playing, and adventuring, Roleplaying and just having fun like the old classic EQ days.  The game can be a new or older game, i was thinking about trying Age of Conan, or going back to EQ2, and in the future trying EarthRise that looks cool :P, You guys have any Ideas?

    I'm surprised you haven't tried Vanguard that was supposed to be the answer to all us old school EQ players prayers. Unfortunately it was more of a nightmare. I haven't played it in awhile so no idea what the state of the game is now. You might want to take a took at Warhammer even though it seems to be a bit wow-like it looks somewhat promising. I think your going to be disappointed if your expecting a game like old EQ. Its like waiting for chevy to make another stingray corvette; they don't make em like that anymore as the cliche goes.

    Yeah I'd say go with Vanguard it's not my cup of tea but it is very  EQ 1 like.

    Thanks guys, Ill look foward to trying them once my new PC arrives, I really do miss the old EQ days when i was playing on Dial up and having lan parties at my uncles house with his guild :P Good times good times.

    You can play Everquest 1 and 2 for free till end of July and get a ton of stuff if you use your old account instead of a new trial one.  Well worth checking out.

    (gives Rise of Kunark all expansions and add ons in one for free if you setup one month of payment near the end of this, in july )

    Awsome looks like im going back to EQ2 and i cant wait for it, havent played a MMORPG in a year or 2... Hopefully my PC gets shipped quick :O I went under my account and it says i have like 162 days remaining =)

     

    Just need to figure out a server on eq2 , gonna start new and fresh =)

    Not entirely sure if I should post this, but it might be okay.

    Check out Shards of Dalaya.

    If not that, then EQ2 has gotten much better.

    Try Antonia Bayle. Despite the douche bags that talk religion in the "Level 1-9" chat channel, it's been great.

    EQ2 is the biggest load of rubbish, compared with Vanguard. reconsider this out of date boring game, for one that gives you endless fun.

    I quit Vanguard to play EQ2, and am having more fun here at EQ2..
