I'm curious if the beta testers will be purchasing the Collector's Edition of the game.
I made the mistake of buying the AoC CE and it was a complete waste of money. Will the WAR CE be worth the extra dough or is it another waste of money?

Anyways, I've been debating about it, I don't like wasting money...but from what I've seen and what I will see in the next few months, I think I'm going to order it.

I would love to buy it, but I just can't understand the most gamemarketing departments.
I'm Dutch, yes, the little land where wooden shoes and windmills are everywhere, but in this windmill infested land *cough* it's not possible to get a CE unless you have contacts you trust in other parts of Europe. Holland is one of the countries that isn't on the CE list, why? No one knows. I study commercial management, which focesses on marketing, and I always wonder why companies ignore certain countries for shipping stuff to.

Already preorded the CE, got my codes, will be at the store the day it goes live to get my box. that said... i picked bacon.

Ehh maybe. I've always wanted a CE of a MMO, include a bunch of crap. I probably will since I need something to play before actual WAR comes out.

Which also in WoW is pointless since when you buy an EU version of WoW you can only use the CD key to create an EU account. So even if you change the client you still can't play in the US.
WAR''s most likely going to be same thing since GOA is handling the EU part contractually.

No, really, they are doing a very poor job. Did you know in Europe you can't even know if you applied to beta or not? This is how bad the EU website is. Besides the fact that it was broken for months.
About AoC, you are wrong, I never liked that game
I am in EU, and have done little research and pre ordered my CE months ago. Few days after ordering they have sent me box with codes so no problems there.
I have also bought AoC CE, and I find it very useful... I have stopped playing the game weeks ago, but I am still listening to the soundtrack.

That`s nothing to do with getting a CE box? The topic is about no being able to get hold of a CE pre-order. As i said, i can walk down to HMV and pick up 10 copies? now how come i can do that if their are none in europe?
I know how the beta works on the website in europe,ok you cant put the code in but you can tell if you have been invited to beta through the download section? If you log in and press download you can see.
But this not to take away the fact that their are many copys in europe with codes. If you choose to buy online and not walk to a store where the codes will be in the box, that`s that persons problem not goa.
I am not sticking up for goa because i had experiance with them in DAOC but many boxes are in europe for the buying.

I know their were teething problems with the CE,so you don`t have to explain to me.
i didnt experience any problems here in denmark, with the codes arriving the day after i ordered

You got to realize that there are countries in Europe where there isn't a HMV. In my country the CE was distributed through GAME stores, and they were sold out in the first few days.
no i wont be buying the CE . total waste of money. ( at least to me it is )
the only thing that i want from the CE is the early access . it still doesn't mean that much to me though .
when early access starts i will take a break for a few days and get ready to shoot past every one in levels once the rest of us get in . i know the game , the quests , the classes , the best areas to level , what quests to pass up ... i could go on . lol .
any way , i never buy the CE for any game. i could care less about a stupid book or toy for my dog to chew on .
I preordered mine form Amazon the first day they were available. All of the ingame extras plus a graphic novel, art book, and exclusive minature. This is the first collecter's edition were I thought that it was worth the price.

Games I'm Waiting for: WAR, Stargate Worlds
I waffled back and forth but I figured that WAR will be the last game I play for a while 9(with the posible exception of AION as my bro will be playing that) so why not go for broke. I'm still occasionaly disappointed with AoC but such as it is. One game's failings (IMO) will never be the same across the board for the rest. If WAR tanks (and I don't think it will) I'm hanging up my hat a few months earlier than planned.
Long story short, I bought mine 60 minutes ago at a brick and mortar and have my codes registered. Good to go!
