horizons - anyone had prob with trial/joining? im concerned

Downloaded it last night, went to join today. Put credit card details in etc tried a few times was returning me to screen with my username needing changed. so i did. then it was ok but still doing this. i done this a good few times before i noticed off my screen down the right hand side (GREAT IDEA!) there was writing saying contact billing and not to hit it again. basically it sounds like i could have just asked for about 5/6 payments from my CC. surely wrong?imageimage

first impressions ith crap like this are NOT good. I had tried with my CC then a couple of times with my switch to see if that might work to no avail. have just emailed billing as suggested but on further reading i should email support cos its not an actual account yet.image Then i find in an auto email i need to contact the euro addy cos im in europe!!! WTF is with this mess? I am feeling extremely worried i have given this shower of piss my card details and im now concerned with no answers for hours.

has anyone had experience with this lot? Is this normal? Can i expect payments taken from my cards god knows how many times in 7 days? This is very concerning.

Horizons sucks. I don't usually say that about a game, but that game blows hard ones. I won't EVER touch it. Sure, the game play may be cool and stuff, but I used to be guilded and played with one of the designers of Horizons in EQ for a while, and he was one of the biggest douchebags I've ever met. He was also really scummy...he would spy on people and stuff like that. If you have problems with the game, that may be part of it. Since I got to know him semi-personally, I decided to stay away from the game because i would never ever let him have access like that to my personal information.

So, I feel your pain. I've heard great things about the game, and NOT so great things, but because of the above reason I'll NEVER play it. Good luck with it, but if something happens I wouldn't be surprised.

AHH! Run away from the monster! He's going to eat us!

Seems the usa and euro versions are different. never even knew there was a european version.

Seems fine now just had to totally re-sign up. Im totally concerned about this credit card caper on theUSA version and will be in touch with them to make sure nothing comes out.

    *edit*

Just played it a few hours and dont think much of it whatsoever.... poor game...image

Didn't the company that owned Horizons go bankrupt? If that's the case, how are they still running the game servers?

Or maybe I'm a little confused on this matter.

Billing problems happened a lot right after launch in US as well. The WEB/client mix is the dumbest idea ever even as a lame excuse to expedite the release.

With that said, I didn't have any probs with the web interface other than performance and the occasional "out of service".image

Horizons made me really happy only when I hit the cancel button.

BTW, a third party company does the billing in US, prob the same in Europe.

If I recall exactly (I don't know shit about the legal mumbo-jumbo) they filed for bankruptcy because of a problem with a debt to one of their vendors.  Supposedly they had worked out a repayment plan with every company they owed a debt to except one... so they filed for some sort of bankruptcy (I really can't spell that word) in order to gain protection for their debt under ... well... y'know, red tape.

If I understand it, all the filing really does is allows them some protection from debts and let's them try to reorganize themselves in order to repay their vendors without caving.

i almost always call and cancel my accounts on mmos. just to make sure that it happened. i dont trust online cancellations. no big deal.

as for horizons, ive been playin bout a month and im still havin a blast. there was a minor setback for about a week but the game is fine again.

i wont be canceling this game until EQ2 comes out. this is a cool game.image
