Still Learning, question about CC

So i am still learning the lore a bit but from what i can see i really can't find a crowd control class. Anyone out there know more about this? I see the tanks, melee dps, ranged dps, healers and secondary healers but what about the CC class.

Thanks.

More likely than not Ranged DPS and maybe some healers will have CC. But there's no "CC" class where its specialty is CC.

    --------------------------------------
A human and an Elf get captured by Skaven. The rat-men are getting ready to shoot the first hostage with Dwarf-made guns when he yells, "Earthquake!" The naturally nervous Skaven run and hide from the imaginary threat. He escapes. The Skaven regroup and bring out the Elf. Being very smart, the Elf has figured out what to do. When the Skaven get ready to shoot, the Elf, in order to scare them, yells, "Fire!"

    Order of the White Border.

They have said they are limiting the amount and power of any CC added into the game, as it has been abused in other games (like it was in DAoC). With the length of fights it shouldn't be that much of an issue to survivability at any rate.

I am happy to hear this. Crowd control run amok was what ruined DAoC for me and ultimately drove me away (if you disagree I don't care and I'm not getting into an argument about it here, meh!).

I had gotten the impression from what I've read (I'm still new to the game info) that there will not be so much crowd control and classes that slowly skew the fight in different directions, if that makes any sense. Also that crowd control wasn't as extreme an issue since tanks can actually use collision detection to protect their parties.

Well actually it is the tanks who are the main CC'ers in WAR...

You see, in games so far tanking has proven to be quite difficult to make viable in PvP since there is no aggro there.

Mythic revamped tanking in WAR to make tanks debuffer + CC archetype with s***loads of survivability. The point of tanks is to make them as annoying as possible so they become the prime targets. A tank's role is to slow down and debuff enemies while DPSers nuke them.

...so they do have some quite powerful mass CC but they have to be in the thick of the crowd of enemies to pull it off. However there is nothing as powerful as mez in WAR - CC overall has been toned down compared to DAoC.

I saw some knockback in one of the videos, I think that is the perfect form of CC.  Interrupt someone, take off their target and send them back 15 feet.  You never really lose control of your character.  I was glad to read they plan on not being heavy into CC as it was the thing I hated the most about WoW.

Generally only tanks and ranged casters will have CC. Mythic's approach to CC is that generally it's really fun for the player doing the CC, but not fun for the victim, as he's basically removed from the game until the CC is over. Thus, there is no CC-based class in WAR, and those CCs that do exist will be tactical and have very short durations. Diminishing returns and immunities will also be in place to prevent anyone from being chain-CCed by multiple players. Expect CC to be less powerful than current WoW CC.
