worth a try again?

ok, just spent an hour reading alot of posts about EVE and am trying too decide whether too reload the game again. got tired of EQ, daoc, etc....

here's the scoop, played EVE for 2 weeks when it was first released and if truth is known, i struggled for some dumb reason with the learning curve<never had this prob in other mmo's>. so i basically got frustrated and cancelled my account< ya i was whining too   image >

so i guess my question(s) is this: since i already know i will struggle for a bit with the interface, is this game REALLY worth another stab? <yes, this is an opinion question>. and, honestly, how is the community? are people willing too help us UBER nOObs out?

all these are meant at this stage in the life of EVE. does it appear EVE will be around for a while still or is it a dying game even though, in general, most posts are positive about it.

Why not download the 14 day trial we having going right now and come to a conclusion yourself? You said you played the game after it first came out, so you of all people would be the best to influence yourself. image

You don't lose your character. If you choose to subscribe then you can activate your trial account, pay the cd-key fee and get 30 more free days so you'll get 6 free weeks for just the cd-key charge.

Use your CD to install. You will have to patch a lot but download much less then if you dl the full game. The trial version isn't a special copy of the game, it's the same game, you just get a trial CD-Key you use to create your account.

About the learning curve; EVE has a very steep learning curve but it isn't anything like it was after release. The tutorial is very helpful now and right after the initial tutorial you are introduced to your tutorial agent and he will run you through all the basics.

Join a player corporation as soon as possible and they will both give you equipment, skills, ships, help, tips and company.

dude, i would just get the 14 day free trail....cause if you use your old account youll be spending 14.95 right away

with the 14 day trail you pay 19.99 at the end of 14 days but get a total of 6 free weeks.  Also, you said you hardly spent any time on your original character anyways.

I think you should go the 14 day route.......its cheaper

also u better hurry...that offer ends in 2 days (youll still get 14 days free...but the offer itself ends in 2 days)

People who have to create conspiracy and hate threads to further a cause lacks in intellectual comprehension of diversity.
