Okay vets you all have 30 days of free gameplay because of the new publish! I know i'm going to get flamed, but as a 5 year vet returning i want you all to just try and give your 30 days a chance and come join all of us returning vets on kettemoor! make a new toon and get in touch with one of the many Novus/SoK members as soon as possible for one of the best SWG experiances i've ever had, and i'm confident you'll feel the same!

sweet, is there a limit as to when you can use it, or is it at yer disposal to use, i just wenrt back to eq2, and wouldnt mind another month of swg.

Well, I just finished another 30 day trial earlier this month and quite frankly I was still bored out of my mind.
Levels and loot just isn't for me.
You have untill July 31st i believe! Come join us on kettemoor man! it's alot of fun.
Not sure if i will go on ketemoor bud, i have a master crafter shipwright and elsers on bria, i miss crafting ships, im gonna hang there with my guild, but thank you for the offer for kette.

I was just thinking that maybe it would be worthwhile to give the current subscribers one month free to celebrate 5 years of SWG.
I think you guys deserve it more then anyone!
ok might as well put this all in one post, as of now eq2 has 2 free months with all the expansions as well as eq w/all expansions even if you just tried the trial you can go back for free, vanguard has a free week for returning players and you get a special mount if you subscribe (eq/eq2 you get to keep all the expansions free if you return to sub) and swg has a free month to all returning players as well.

Since you still play and obiviously want others to play with OP, tell the developers and SOE that if they want us to stay and play, they need to make the GAME fun again. Right now it's possibly the worst MMO I have ever played. There is no way a reasonable person would pay for SWG as it is today over games like WoW, AoC, CoH/CoV, EVE, and any of the new crop of games coming out....
The most fun experience I have in SWG was Day 2 of launch, in 2003, when I had skills, a sandbox world, wasn't restricted by class/level/quests... I Nothing you do on Kett today will come close to that, sorry, nice try.
Us Vets have a high standard to which we hold games to; UO and Pre-CU SWG.
The NGE just doesn't come close to touching that and most of us if not all will never pay a premium for something so lacking and dull.

That's okay thunderous, everyone has their own opinion. I was a beta tester for this game, and loved it since day 1. Yes NGE is not as good in any way shape or form as pre-cu was, i know. But the devs have implemented many things lately which are making this game worth while. You don't like SWG in its current state, i do. Just like you just said WOW and AOC are good crop games. I think WOW is the biggest excuse for a good mmorpg, and i bought AOC and unsub'd after a week. I think it was the biggest flop ever. It's just opinions, i too am a pre-cu vet. Many vet's are coming back to SWG it just depends on what you like. I've played ton's of MMO's and can never stay sub'd long enough to do anything because i try to compare them all to SWG and they, in my opinion, stink.
When does this free time start? I'd like to pop back on for old time's sake.

That's very weird man! You should have it, maybe contact soe customer service?
I went back in but only to pay maintenance on my houses. I also made it a point to inform any players new to the game how SOE lied and stole our money.
This game must die for the good of the industry. By supporting this game, your saying its okay to change the core game mechanics at any time. By supporting this game, your saying its okay to steal player money and use it for a new product. By supporting this game, your saying its okay for a company to lie to you so you'll keep paying them.
Shame on anyone playing this game.
shame on you for holding a friggen grudge for so long. I played since beta and quit in december......yes i don't like the nge....but seriously.....the flame has died, no reason to carry a torch anymore. There is no reason why those who enjoy the current game, can't enjoy it. No reason to harp on every post. We all know what happened, all the vets do. So since this is a vet return trial....i think they know.

if people continue to support this game, whats to stop another developer from revamping their core game mechanics ? The entire industry could go down the tubes if SWG manages to survive.
And current players should NOT play a game designed with STOLEN money. The revenue to build the nge came from box sales and subscription fees for an entirely different game. Thats called misappropriated funds.
My "torch" wont go out until this game shuts down. SOE stole my money...8 months left on a 1yr subscription that they wouldnt refund on TWO accounts (wife and mine). They stole $60 for two expansions (i forget the lame excuse for why i didnt qualify for refunds). And they stole at least 6 months worth of subscription fees on two accounts to develop the NGE in secret.
If SOE wants me to put out my torch then kindly refund the $500+ dollars they stole from me. Oh and toss in another $500 for pain and suffering for destroying two years worth of effort I put into my avatars. Until then, I'll never stop doing what I can to see that this game is shut down.

Not trying to be rude..But $500 for pain and suffering over avatars has got to be the most rediculous thing i have ever heard. Yes NGE is not as good what so ever has pre-cu, but this game still is fun and exciting. I lost out on pre-cu to, i've played since day one. I've gotten over it. Sorry you haven't, play something else and don't flame in a game forum you don't play anymore.
Tried to give it go once again. Continued the Naboo legacy quests and did few and then tried the terminal missions. Even advanced up 1 level.
It's just way too boring and looks like crap even with everything in max. No thanks! Not worth 15$ a month.

I resemble that remark and in all honestly hosal has more maturity then half the adults on this board.
Like others many people have tried so many mmorpg's and come running back to swg (yes running..). Like others I await an mmorpg that can top SWG but as of yet nothing has compared to it so I enjoy the game warts and all and quite honestly even with all the changes I find no other game that can hold a candle to it for the type of open gameplay and fun in it.
When someone makes a game as good as that one people will notice it and follow until then this game is doing very well. If people take time to really think about this and look at the changes and revamps and really think about this. There is a large number of players who can easily for lack of a better way to put it admit (me included) that this game is still one of the best on the market if not the best. So IN SPITE of past bumps and turns in the road the game is doing well and is drawing customers back (again myself included). There has to be a reason why people who haven't played for years and may have logged in to try a few times in the past (that's me..) and not stayed are now staying. No its not "blind fanboism" its a population of gamers that enjoys this game for what it is now and not just laments about what happened and is long over.
I'm pretty sure he ment the group that left the game and mourn for it's lost and continued saga of getting classic servers. The fact is even classic servers can't save this game, the game is set with a small sub base and you guys who still play it is what keeps SOE's hand feed with a little food money.
It's all good though your fun is my boredom, everyone is different. Just continue to love the game you love to play and don't look back. You know what company you are dealing with, you seen what they are capable of doing, you seen the lack of customer appreciation. So when they announce a expansion and then close the game 2 weeks later, we'll be back to square one.
That being said pics are not going to prove anything stroke the e-peen all day but you and I know this is the internet, it can be searched, downloaded and copyright infringe on a daily bases. Getting a pic of SWG pre-CU is like going to get the mail you know something is going to be in there.
