... but I never bought the actual game. Only played the beta.
Is there a way I can download the client? I mean I did so for beta but I havent been able to find a client download that wasnt a purhcase site.

Oh! I just recalled I hadnt played Vanguard since before I built my new rig. Hehe.... Quad Core should be nice for Vanguard.
I'm running quad core and dual graphics cards, and the game runs max... it's beautiful.
On another topic, somewhat related to the original, I know SOE reactivated accounts till the end of july.
If someone were to make a trial account today could they play till the end of july as well?
I'm not sure. Rereading the email says you can reactivate your account until July 31st but i only says you can play for a limited time*. So, I'm thinking 2 weeks at most but giving people a one month window to jump in to reactivate.
Also, wondering. I had two characters before. I'm willing to bet I should delete them and restart fresh since I know weapons and all that must have changes alot since beta. Are there still corpse runs as well?
You know what, I take that back. Just going into my subs info at SOE shows my status pending for Vanguard and says expires July 31st... Hmm. Also have the same thing for EQ2. (8-1-8)
I dont think if someone started a trial right now it would do much. It says on the email that if I bought a subscribed to the game I would lose the free game time. I would be willing to bet the trial is still just the trial.
Yes, a trial account won't get this offer. I used my buddy key last december to check the state of the game, and then there was suddently a free offer for the holidays. I couldn't use the trial account after it ran out, but I could use my old subscription.
Not to change the topic, but do anyone know if I can switch back to Vanguard Launcher (without repatching the whole game) instead of the Station Launcher? the test server doesn't run with the Station Launcher
well it would have been nice to get some free time after the dissapointment with AoC, I got the email, but my account still registers as closed even thou I played for about 6 months in retail, to bad sony, that kind of pisses me off and makes me wonder if the same small time crap will happen if I come back.
You know i dont get why sony's name is dirt to so many gamers. I know the story so save your breath because i dont want to hear any whining about it. Thats directed at you SWG vets.
I started dealing with sony when they took over Vanguard which ive been playing sence day 1 And in that time sony has gave me 4 free months to EQ2 Iv'e never subbed to EQ2 or any sony game but vanguard.
Now in my books that make's them far above any other company ive had to deal with when it comes to mmo's. Ya i know its marketing but who cares.
Think a couple times blizzard said they would give me a few free days because of downtime because of a patch. But me and my wife both had accounts and neither one of us ever did get the days we still got charged on the same day that we always did

No i dont Terranah. I dont think sony deserves the rep they got myself. I think Lucas Arts is more at fault than sony when it comes to what happened in SWG
As far as am concerned the've gave me 4 free months no other gaming company has ever gave me one thing but take my money. God knows there was plenty of times where a few free days would have been warrented
Yup, a lot of people still don't know the fact that Lucas Arts were the main push for the NGE. Info about it is out there to find on google for those who need more than the word of mouth.

Soe is no different than any other company in this industry. You're the one been naive if you think they are

SOE receives more hate posts on forums than any other developer in this mess we call an industry, I think that is plenty of evidence that they are the arch fiend. I have nothing against Vanguard, in fact id love to have been able to get in on the free time, but SOE screws up random stupid shit all the time, like this vet invite program that I received and how I cant participate....even thou they sent me the email...you see the situation?
I'll be giving this a shot as well, since I received a re-invite to the game.
I certainly hope it has improved... the last time I frequented these boards, I had few kind words to say regarding Vanguard.

Actually I don't see what the fuss is all about. From what I've seen, SOE runs their games like a professional company instead of a rag tag bunch of schmucks that most other game companies do(*cough* Funcom? *cough*). They've turned Vanguard completely around from being a total wreck to something great. They did it fast too. Vanguard was fully playable last summer and from then on they've kept on polishing it. They obviously do try to save Vanguard and it's not a half assed effort. AFAIK they've invited ppl back to play for free twice, and IMHO that's the greatest way to save this game at the moment. Certainly this last time it seems to have had effect.
I'll willingly admit that I haven't played any other game run by SOE and I have no idea what they've done in the past except what I've heard about SWG. Not that I understand what SOE has to do with that since from what I understand, SWG is developed by LucasArts and not SOE. My point is that SOE seem to be running the show pretty well right now and I really don't care what they did years ago.
I also got an email from sony to come back to vanguard for a while and i was rather happy at the prospect of trying it out again.
That is until i went to my sony account page and found out my vanguard account was still classed as "closed".
So now im currently waiting on sonys customer services of doom disecting my account history to see if im special enough to have the free time .........+24 hours and counting.
I never got an email myself but out of curiousity I checked my sub info and VG, EQ2 and SWG are all open for the next month.
If I hadn't checked the forum here I would have never known. Thanks MMORPG.com forum goers.

I can think of 3 primary reasons why people don't like SOE. I don't agree with 2 of the 3.
1) They didn't handle EQ well. They ignored their players and created a game full of inconsistencies and imbalance.
2) Station Exchange. People don't like companies that allow players to spend money to get what they had to work hard for.
3) SWG - CU
I'd say the SWG thing was their biggest mistake. I never really got into the game but since it became a ghost town shortly after the CU i'd have to say it didn't work and they refuse to roll it back.
The way they handled EQ showed their lack of experience at that time. The way they've handled EQ2 and Vanguard show they are maturing when it comes to hearing what players want.
I couldn't get into EQ2. I can't get into any game with instancing. It was instancing that ruined EQ for me too.
I'm not sure what their plans are for Vanguard but so far it's good. The game is performing 900% better than it did at launch. I've only expeirienced one bugged quest.
I actually believe that this game is now where it should have been at launch and if people can get over that initial bugfested horror to give this game another chance, they'll quite enjoy themselves.
