Which processor would be better for gaming and a bit of photoshop ect.

    I would go with the second one myself but you are paying for that extra umpfff

    If you're going to overclock a lot, the quad probably a little better, but personally I would just go with the duo. Probably when you upgrade again in a year or 2, the quad will do way better.  At the moment though, duo performs better in nominal mode on most things, including games, and even overclocking a lot with good air cooling, circulation, the quad barely comes out ahead.
