Then you should be able to link to some papers they have written.  If they are not publishing papers on the topic they are pundits not scientists.  I’ll even give you a hint.  Those “thousands of scientists” do not publish papers on climate chance and don’t even have qualifications in climate science.

Has Germany limited their speed on the autobann to 80km yet? If not then they arn't taking global warming seriously.

The average German produces 1/2 the CO2 the average American produces and they are getting their emissions down even further with the worlds best solar power program.

So much for the “economic harm” denialist fear politics would have you believe would be caused by dealing with global warming.  Plenty of rich industrial nations are already doing what the fear mongers claim is impossible.

Where did all the really serious guys who always managed to pull out thousands of links to movies and posts from scientists that told why the Global Warming isn't real, or at least not man-made. I personally believe in Global Warming but is starting to hate the fact that it's everywhere; you can hardly do anything without coming across all this "good for global warming" stuff. And what's even worse is that when they report about it in the newspapers they can't even get their facts straight!

Global Warming is probably real, but it's not the end of the world. Sure if we let it continue for 50-100 years it may turn our earth into some post-apocalyptic scenario, but we've got lots of time to change. If you constantly scream at a human to do a u-turn in how he lives he'll in the end start to panic and not do anything at all - and that's what happening.

Yes, there is a greenhouse effect. No, mankind isn't even remotely close to being the sole contributor to global warming. Even if I'm wrong, the most we can do, with all the proposed legislation and lifestyle changes, is delay the adverse effects of global warming by about six years.

I don't know why you people keep harping on this subject. You aren't trying to save the world; you're trying to destroy capitalism. That being the case, why don't you just be honest and argue the merits of socialism rather than trying to slip it past us with this bullshit?

Also, there's a considerable amount of money tied up in the global warming issue. How easy do you think it would be for a scientist to acquire grant money if they set out to disprove man made global warming? Special interest groups, on both sides, have a long history of suppressing information that doesn't fit their political agenda. Who benefits for the global warming hysteria? I'm sure with minimal searching you can find more than a few people and organizations that are making off with BILLIONS over the scare.

So they can keep driving fast and wasting fuel?

Oh... I heard Canada dropped out of the Kyota stuff because they couldn't reach their target. Is that true.

lol again because someone puts out a chart you choose to believe it with no real facts or evidence? Sure we can become more efficient with energy and that but we are not causing global warming, it is the sun. It actually cooled down during the idustrial boom when we were using more co2 than ever so it's like wooo out output of co2 is really effecting it :

The Oceans put out something stupid like 80% of the worlds co2 and other stuff like dead leaves rotting from forests and volcanos put out the rest and humans do sumthing tiny like 3%.

my personal belief is let them run around thinking we destroying the planet. We, at least know better. I take care of the planet as a conscious consumer. But the idea that global warming is man made and we are killing ourselves is just...well...it's retarded.

People who have to create conspiracy and hate threads to further a cause lacks in intellectual comprehension of diversity.

    Look, here's how it works;

    1.I'm a scientist that needs a job.

2.I get grant money to prove something that someone wants to be proved.

3.I buy a nice house, pay for my kids education, and take a few nice vacations.

    4. I write some bullshit paper saying how my benefactors are so right about CO2 killing the planet.

    5.  You believe it.

    From my post on http://www.mmorpg.com/discussion2.cfm/thread/185259/page/1

"Virtually every scientist in every field got it," says Robert Park, a professor of physics at the University of Maryland at College Park and spokesman for the American Physical Society. "That's a big mailing." According to the National Science Foundation, there are more than half a million science or engineering PhDs in the United States, and ten million individuals with first degrees in science or engineering.

Arthur Robinson, president of the Oregon Institute of Science and Medicine, the small, privately funded institute that circulated the petition, declines to say how many copies were sent out. "We're not willing to have our opponents attack us with that number, and say that the rest of the recipients are against us," he says, adding that the response was "outstanding" for a direct mail shot.

    http://archives.seattletimes.nwsourc...okers+petition

It was touted as a collection of thousands of scientists debunking global warming. So was that Perry Mason on the list? And John Grisham? What about that Spice Girl? [...]

Several environmental groups questioned dozens of the names: "Perry S. Mason" (the fictitious lawyer?), "Michael J. Fox" (the actor?), "Robert C. Byrd" (the senator?), "John C. Grisham" (the lawyer-author?). And then there's the Spice Girl, a k a. Geraldine Halliwell: The petition listed "Dr. Geri Halliwell" and "Dr. Halliwell."

Asked about the pop singer, Robinson said he was duped. The returned petition, one of thousands of mailings he sent out, identified her as having a degree in microbiology and living in Boston. "It's fake," he said.

    http://www.sciam.com/page.cfm?sectio...A9809EC588EF21

Scientific American took a random sample of 30 of the 1,400 signatories claiming to hold a Ph.D. in a climate-related science. Of the 26 we were able to identify in various databases, 11 said they still agreed with the petition—one was an active climate researcher, two others had relevant expertise, and eight signed based on an informal evaluation. Six said they would not sign the petition today, three did not remember any such petition, one had died, and five did not answer repeated messages. Crudely extrapolating, the petition supporters include a core of about 200 climate researchers‐a respectable number, though rather a small fraction of the climatological community.

If you mail something on NAS letterhead, with a paper that pretends to be a PNAS publication, to nearly everyone in the country with a degree in science or engineering, you'll get a lot of responses. That doesn't mean that the survey can in any way be considered a legitimate view on what qualified scientists think.

    http://www4.nationalacademies.org/ne...8?OpenDocument

"As of 2006 there were approximately 20,000 climatologists worldwide. 40 of those would equal .2%-- Also it is interesting to note that Exxon Mobile's lobby offers a $10,000 award to scientists and economists willing to publicly deny Global Warming..."

Every summer here in Greece in my 26 yr old life span is hotter and hotter. That's all the evidence i need that the earth is warming up. Sometime last summer the temparature rose to 50 degrees celsius under shade, that is not a temparature u want to live at, trust me.

To lighten the subject up a little bit, STOP WARMING UP THE PLANET!!!!!!1111 IF THE ICES MELT I WILL BECOME AN EXCIBIT IN AN UNDERWATER SEE-PARK.

Tour guide to audience: on the left u can see the renown city of Athens, amazing as it seems people used to live here 100 yrs ago, of course at the time the city was not underwater.... Ah on the right u can see the tower of Athens, the city's highest building, now a home for trouts and see-bases. Fishing is good in that area

The problem is, nobody is willing to do what it takes to stop the scurge of CO2.  We're all still heating and cooling our homes.  We drive cars, and buy groceries that are transported via fuel using vehicles.  And we use electricity extensively.  So I guess we'll just have to wait for laws to be passed that force us to stop these activities.

Scientific proof can be manufactured just like any other form of propaganda.  Its not difficult to do, or to understand.  If you don;t know about that, its ok I understand.  Good luck in your learning process.

So let me get this straight..

You think that raping forests of their trees, polluting the environment, and producing TONS of greenhouse gasses EVERY DAY has absolutely NO impact on the environment?

I see a global consensus that global warming is man-made. I see little to no proof that it isn't.

You're believing Sean Hannity over the world's scientists...

False dichotomy.  Climate change is real.  Global warming a part of a cycle.  Just like ancient druids used their knowledge of the cycle of eclipses to frighten the people into following them, today we are being frightened with this misunderstood natural process.

So tell me, since you know so much..

What do the world's scientists and governments have to gain by wanting to scare us into not polluting as much? And you didn't answer me.

Well obviously the scientists involved are paid for their efforts.  Thats their horse in this race.  As for this idea that the objective is to simply decrease pollution, you are sadly mistaken.  Why are PCB's still dumped in our rivers?  I could go on with the list of corporate pollution that is let slide...  Instead of targeting real pollution issues, they have us chasing our tails pursuing carbon dioxide.  Its fake environmentailsm.  There are real issues of pollution, but they are put aside so that we can worry about CO2.  Why do you think that is?  Fake environmentalists full of self rightousness have been misled into working against themselves.  I have no horse in this race, so go ahead and hurt yourself.  But don;t you think you should understand what it is you are fighting for?

well i live on the North east and i would say most people who live here would say thats a load of BS it is hotter then it ever has been, if we are moving to a cooling phase they wouldnt last year be hotter and this slightly lower? no this is the hottest summer yet.

yeah and people arnt going to do it, normaly people dont have the extra cash to fork over into a better emmission car or redo there house to heat electricly. It has to be a goverment thing since the economy isnt exactly just go and buy these. Someone brought up that we should bail out american cars, i say do it but make them make different source of energy cars if the yare going to bale them out. (hydrogen cars?) Even if you people dont believe in global warming you cant denie getting off of oil is not beneficial if not for just general health of yourself and people and the world, there is no reason not to do such things from our stand points(obviously many reasons for the people who get oil and such)

Towards the person above me i have to say, those issues arnt hot, much wont be done untill they are. GAS PRICES are huge, you strike while the iron is hot, you dont let it cool down cause another piece is bigger, your not usuing time to your advantage, 1 issues at a time, this one is hot for many reasons so now is the time to strike and reform.

Wow this is starting to be like a job...  Look, I don't get research grants so unlike your precious scientists I have to actually work for a living.  So figure it out yourself, I'm busy.
