Ok i was wondering about all of your ideas on overrated games? My view on the biggest ovverated game isHalo(Ok yes its a good game, but some people are in love with it and it becomes boring)
What is your opinion?

I definitely have to agree with WoW for most Overhyped, and prolly have to also agree on Halo for most overrated. It's a great game yeah, but jeez people....

This is maybe slightly bias because i only really like RPGs but i do like the odd time some fps games and action games(if there really good). Adventure games can be quite fun and good , not too much of a RTS fan but some ive liked.
My point is that GTA3 isnt even a good game O.o Rather play Monkey Island then that peice of crap

Ok... In GTA, there is something else to do beyond murdering those ladies with a shotgun/sword, there are MISSIONS AND A STORYLINE, OOOOOO I KNOW! SO EXCITING!

Here's my opinion..
Over rated/hyped: Deus Ex (both, it wasn't THAT great.), Halo, EQ, Diablo (esp. 2)
Under rated/hyped (Some of the most fantastic games I've ever played: Tribes (1 or 2), Fallout, Worms (not so much the later ones), Subspace/Continuum (free 'net game), Monkey Island (all except the newest one)
But as far as hype for the new MMOs coming out (I am thinking only of the ones I care about, Guild Wars, World of Warcraft, Everquest II) I think most of the games are deserving of a lot of the hype, but some people (particularly WoW and EQ2 fanboys) are going a bit overboard, saying how awesome it's going to be and how much it will dominate over the other MMOs coming out. The games aren't even OUT yet.
But I feel that Guild Wars is very deserving of all the hype it's getting

Most over hyped game is WoW..once all those ppl find out its just a eq clone with WoW settings/monsters and a new approach on quests and some few minor adjustments , hardend mmorgpers will most likely not be satisfied with it.

Most over-hyped: EverQuest 2 because all you hear about is how great its graphics are gonna be, but one look at the many images or videos makes you laugh They aren't bad, but not good either.
Most over-rated: EverQuest because it's portrayed as being gods gift to MMORPGs. Playing it, you soon find out it's just a slow, boring level grinder and not much else. It's ok, I guess.
Most Overhyped game - GTA: SA (although it will probably be awesome ^^)
Most Overrated game - Drakengard (for the amount of commercials/publicity it got before release, it SUCKED ASS~~)

Most Underrated MMORPG - Lineage: The Blood Pledge (a.k.a Lineage 1)... one of the 1st MMORPG's, and the VERY 1st to use large scale sieges... best MMORPG i've ever played but still only has like 600 people on per server at peak >=/ (unless your playing on the Korean servers LOL)

most overrated: I have to agree on Halo...i dont really see what all the fuzz is about, and i love FPS. Its a nicely balanced game, but it is waaay too hyped.
As for GTA3 and GTA3:VC....those 2 are some of the best games ive ever tried..at least VC is, and i still play them occasionally. I loved Mafia too. Those 3 games really prove how much a good storyline and good actors can add to a game.

Overrated? Definitely GTA
Overhyped? Honestly? Damn near every game to come out in the last five years, if not more than five years. I'd say all games, but there's been a few good ones that got snuck through.

the GTA series has been the best thing (aside from all those Square games) to happen to PS1/PS2 IMO...
sure they're overhyped but they deserve it... ntm theres alot of other games out there more deserving of the title "most overhyped"

Most UNDER-rated game would have to be Morrowind, love that game.
The GTA games are some of the best.
WoW is really overhyped, and so was TianTang II (Lineage II) here in Asia.
I thought that DAoC was over-rated, but that could be just me.
Another vote for City of Heroes for most over-rated here. After all the gleaming reviews it got, I went out, paid my cash and looked forward to some great comic book adventuring. After a few days of killing the exact same mobs, no real content, no loot, I was left with nothing but an arcade game. Certainly the most overrated game i've played in a while.
I can't say I think EQ2 or WoW are OVER-hyped as i'm sure they'll both be as good as the hype makes out they will be, most over-hyped at the moment i'll say is Ryzom. I've seen so much press on this recently, with every site carrying previews of it. I played it in beta for a few weeks and it certainly wasn't as good as most of the other mmorpg's i've played.

I would have to say Ultima Online was the most over rated game, at least that I've ever played.
I've got to vote for GTA as well, i tried to like it but i thought it was boring and simple. Maybe it's my age the shock value was lost on me.
