This game is really looking interesting to me; like something I would like to at least try in the future.
Why does this game have virtually no hype surrounding it in comparison to other MMOs being developed? Heck, if I didn't come to MMORPG.com, I probably would've never even heard of the game. Graphics are looking pretty nice for a beta, and the game itself doesn't look too bad either.
Is it because it's not developed by a high profile company like Blizzard?

It's a foreign company that has no previous MMO releases, which is a large factor for the lack of hype. I don't think they have a booming marketing department yet to do nothing but actively promote the title, but the US publishing deal they landed will surely help spread the word. I think it's common now that games start pushing advertising heavily only within 2-3 of the actual release date, so as this year draws nearer to its close, I have no doubts Spellborn will get more exposure.
And with everything it has going for it, I think it's very likely that once the interest is stolen, it will remain strong.
Apparently they will have lots of new information at the liezpig games convention like they did last year, not sure what date that is on. Its been a month I believe since anything new was posted about this game so it probably will not be long till they give us an update.
Ive known this game has been in development for ages but I haven't been following it's development that closely. Just recently I watched some gameplay footage and read some stuff and I must say looks and sounds amazing. I was going to post something similar to OP luckily I spotted this thread. It is deserving of much more hype and attention then what it has been getting. It looks very promising and if any game is going to come from obscurity to make a big dent in the mmorpg market I think it might be this one. I guess it will be the mmo for players truly looking for something new. I'm torn between this and WAR. I hope that both games have success though, because when I get sick of one I can jump into the other.
