I'm just wondering. I only recently starting posting on these forums, but it seems the majority of people here are disgruntled veterans. I could understand this, with the reduced game populations it is clear that less people are actively playing the game than those who were affected by the major system changes, that without a doubt have left wounds on many people against SOE.
If you don't play the game currently, do you play other MMOs actively? Are you awaiting the release of a new MMO?
Here's a sort of personal question for those that do not play, but it is one that holds much interest for me:
If you don't play the game currently, what are your intentions on the SWG forum? Player assistance? SOE bashing? NGE bashing? Community with fellow veterans? Other?
The reason for the questions is because I actually want to know. The SWG Effect is one of the most dramatic and long lasting that I have yet encountered in the video game community, and I wish I understood both sides better. I can see points to either side of the arguments, but if I may be blunt, it has been multiple years since the mistakes have been made. What makes so many stay on it?
Please don't interpret this as an attack, I know I have my own side, but this simply interests me.

I voted no I don't want to play. I played 7 months ago and found it boring. Quests are linear, crafting is castrated by no decay and a lack of new players to buy, many options that allow individualism have been removed (although other systems were placed in to help allieviate this) and I don't care about the scavenger hunt end game content.
The main problem I have is with the producing company SOE. They have lied and stole RL money from their customers with bait and switch tactics. Of course this is my opinion. I do not trust them not to continue to do this as they have made no acknowledgement and made no apologies. They have done nothing to earn my trust and until they do I will not return to play any of their MMO games. There have been acknowledgements and even apologies from former Devs of this game but none from anyone officially working currently at SOE. At least not on purpose. There were those two Devs that put there foot in their mouths and let it slip that they thought it was a mistake.

I started playing SWG in July 2003 and stopped around February 2005. Returned to the game in June of the present year. With big surprise I see people still bashing the game for the same reason 3 years after.. Think many really need to get a life and move on...
While i quited the game for probably the same reasons this "disgrunted vets" did, I did not post bad things about the game , or the company . I just moved on. Thats the right thing to do. What is no right is to attack the current player base and almost force people out of the game just because some individuals have made their prime agenda to destroy the game, the devs and SOE.
I am not going to embarge on the phalacy that SWG is the best game ever, or that is the worst game ever. Everyone has the right to have his own views on the game and express them in places like this, as long as he/she doesnt try to force others to share them.
Sadly on SWG boards we have a bunch of brain damaged people that do exactly that, by system attack 1 of the most precious things, freedom of choice .
Before the NGE i was a big fan of SOE.
But just to know how stupid the CEO can be for a multimillionaire company is a reason why i wouldent care anymore. You almost expect them to have some kind of standards when becomming a CEO..but nooo.
