whevener someone talks on a diablo 3 post, it ALWAYS seems to turn into a "Is diablo 3 really an mmo?" now i know people can have their own beliefs (even though some are far-fetched). I REALLY REALLY hope that blizzard is not reading any of this, because if i install diablo to find out that they are trying to make it into an mmo, i would be pissed off.
Final though, if you consider diablo 2 an mmo, do you consider, Dungeon siege 2, Silverfall, Loki, Beyond divinity, Titans Quest, Sacred, Arcanum, and Dungeon lords an mmo?

remember guys, MASSIVELYmorpg NOT MASSIVEmorpg
HOW DARE you put arcanum into the same bag as games like titan quest/sacred or dungeon siege. Heresy.
REALITY CHECK

Arcanum was/is one of the best RPG's out there. The rest was crap.

Weird that game was mentioned I was playing it again yesterday, but yeah its hardly a Diablo type game.
i didn't mean for it to be like a "Diable type game", i was just looking over at my shelf full of rpg's and that just so happened to be on there :P
"The definition of over doesn't have to be, "The End"
Diablo III Is an MMO just as Guild Wars is an MMO. It isn't.
Well since they added Hellgate London to the site, which IS a diablo clone, it seems that a precedent has been set. I completely agree that Diablo III is not MMO, yet neither is Hellgate.
So when you resolve that discrepency, get back to us.
Well, D3 is going to multiplayer online RPG and it is going to be MASSIVELY popular.
So that is a MMORPG for you.
I really don't understand why it is so difficult to grasp that massively part in MMORPG is NOT referering to popularity. It doesn't matter how popular an online roleplaying game is, as long as there is not a massive amount of people playing in the same virtual, persistent world, it's NOT an MMORPG.
In diablo 3, you're not playing in a persistent world. you're playing with a small group of people in your own server.
