So, a new MMO. I'm definitely not an expert on them, never actually maxing a character in any (GuildWars doesn't count for that I don't think)
Requiem:Bloodymare is a horror MMORPG that tries to redefine the MMORPG genre. It was in open-beta testing until recently. Apparently, open June 1st to subscribers and July 1st to freebies.
It is free to play, but for a monthly subscription you get increased drop rates and experience rates and the "O-kay!" to talk to people (simply, you must pay to use general chat).
It's made by two groups. (different sources say different things)
One group is Gravity, known for Ragnarok, who is also the publisher. Another is L5 games, created by some ex-members of Blizzard North (Diablo and Diablo 2 fame).
The game features a demon possession system (transform that is levelled up with use), a DNA system (innate upgrades) and the Havok physics engine (which does nothing more than add ragdoll physics to when you die. The sudden free motion looks almost out of place)
My personal opinion: the game is very buggy, doesn't revolutionize anything, is very slow paced, very laggy, and looks to me like a darker WoW, but without the things that make WoW good.
I spent a few hours (having to relog in no less than 6 times) getting to level 10, and at level 10 I went to the job changer, who told me to complete a quest. I got the quest and tried doing it to no avail. I went on the official forums and the quest is broken, and apparently the remedy is to go ask for a jobchange anyway. I tried that and was scolded by the NPC and told to do a quest.

it bugs me when people say "An ex member of blizzard" its like once you walk into blizzard, and apply for a job, you must go through some rigorous training so that when your finally done, you will be known as "A MEMBER FROM BLIZZARD" and every single game that you are affiliated with soon turns into "something to check out"

It looked cool, tried it out, wasn't too special.
