Let me play the advocatus diaboli here just for the sake of seeing all sides. What I suppose is, that Funcum was just extremly naive, to say it in nice ways. I mean, incidents like those with GM Agnosia seem to revolve around PVP, and making PVP without ANY rules or limits always invite those 5-10% griefers and gankers. From a pure economical side, those gankers make A LOT of people quit games. Now a GM is someone responsible to manage the chaos other people created, basically. They have a PVP system where people can be attacked unpenalized anytime anywhere without limits and there ARE some who take their pleasure from causing other players as much personal frustration as possible, they are in all honesty mentally sick people.
Now officially a GM can not say I forbid you to gank them, because like police they must handle things as the "law " says. And the FFA-PVP laws say free for all anytime. Period. So what can they do? Its all the bad concept behind AoC and the management and designers where the real error lies. Now mediocre GMs have to handle a very bad situation and the result is of course trouble. Given any good regulated PVP and a relative finished and properly working game such GMs would be sufficient, but with the extreme situations they likely find all the time mediocre GMs like these are just totally overburdened with the chaos at hand.
As one who worked in QA and technical documentation a while myself I know customer service is the ONE thing 80% of all IT (and similar) companies reduce and outsource. Everything that helps the customer is usually reduced to the utmost mininum by such corporations. Handling MMO gamers as GM is a VERY difficult job, NOTHING I would want, but it cant be given to mediocre people with zero education how to handle customers, and MMO gamers especially. Why service is always so neglected is beyond me. I am sure companies with good customer service can considerably raise their profit, but neither bean counters nor nerdish programmers have any sense for human relations.

I haven't sent in a petition in awhile, and although they take a long time to get a response the GM's are always very real and very nice, not so much helpful but that's not their fault, I'm sure if they had Funcoms permission they would fix more issues, however, they probably value their job a little more than helping somebody out with something that they aren't supposed to do.

What the OP endured was a dark gauntlet of the lowest tier of FunCom hell- no speakeda engles.
Its precisely because of this, this specifically, that I vowed never to play a game (least of all a mmo) that was based outside of the states or the UK. The GM had absolutely no idea whatsoever what the OP was talking about... no idea! It hard enough dealing with fluent speakers.
