The graphics are already stunning withought max settings... but think what you want because it sounds rediculous. Because ya know... if they made the settings true to the hardware available now, than in 2 years (if your still playing EQ2 that is) you will be complaining that the graphics are "out dated". So eaither way there is always somthing to complain about. And believe it or not people DO buy new hardware to make thier games look better.
Letting the game grow is a GREAT idea, I hated when I would buy a new comp component and it would only help frame rate or something and not anything else.. At least now when I upgrade in 2005-2006 it will look better, and by then cards and such will be able to do all eq2 can.. so by then eq2 will look better. Atm no residentail comp in the entire world can do all that eq2 will let ya. So screenies from sony are jsut the best their comps can do, probably not showing half of the video tinkering do dads.. ahh... cant talk good, its 5 am and I was awake at 8.. in 3 more hours it will be like i'm drunk.. since if your awake for 24 hours that what it is like...
I just hope I can play the darn game on medium to near high settings otherwise its gonna be a waste and probabaly better of waiting till computers can handle EQ2 before buying the game. But by then it will be and old game and wouldnt be good to start then when everyone is maxxed out or near max.

Well you look at it wrong... Its not like it wont have reasonable min settings just because it has High settings... SOE is not that dumn to think thay people have uber PCs... It could probably work on some factory PC with a P3 if they wanted to do that.
First off...the idea is great to allow the game to grow graphix wise as do the computer systems. And I also agree that no matter what they do people will always find something to complain about.
Vakktn so you know, The upgrade to the PCI slot is already in production and is in the verge of being released. Its called PCIX and is twice as fast as AGP. Nvidia and ATI have already started production on 1gig+ cards that run quite well on these slots along side the 64 bit processor motherboards. (which are already on the market)
As we all know, computers upgrade faster then anything. We can go out and buy a top of the line computer and by the time we get it home we see an adverstisement on a bill board with a even better computer about to be released.... Its just how it is.
Not only that but ATI and Nvidia video cards are about to be able to run in pairs.... In other words you will be able to put 2 video cards side by side on one motherboard and they both will render one picture. Although the cards must be identical for it to work, they have already been doing this.
So as you can see, I really don't think the graphics will be much of a problem...

Anyhow, SOE is not blind, they can see all the fanboys just as well as we can.... They know they can sell if for $149.99 and get them to buy it, but they have to find middle ground so that the non fanboys will consider purchaseing it as well.
Virtual objects that they toss in are a status symbol in these games for alot of the players. It is like a booster shot of 250% pure ego boost, and will make them feel that much more elite.
Like someone else said, if you are lame enough to hang up the posters or cloth maps, you really need to get laid... get some sunlight on your pasty pale skin... and get a life (unless you're young enough to still be going through puberty... then you have an excuse)

That thing autographed by the dev's in the SWG CE had the autographes machine printed on lol how retarded.
The talking head sounds cool though... the painting... well ok if you are a woman or watch too much queer eye for the straight guy really must have it for your house.
The baby dragon might be neat.... but those are the only 2 things I personally have even the slightest interest in.
But its likely that those 2 things you will get from a fanboy who is haveing financial issues affording his new sword he wants... or even on ebay for a few bucks if you really must have them.

On the subject of collectors editions/special...I have bought them in the past too...I like them...especially if it's for something I am a big fan of. It's all a matter of POV if you think it's a waste of money, the special edition is probably not directed at you.
