I played Fantasy and 40k for quite a while, but haven't touched them in a few years. Played Mordheim a bit when the old hobby shop had sessions (could use those miniatures for Fantasy army). I played Skaven since the day I bought the boxed set, they were the included army and I never looked back. Probably had like 5k worth of the little bastards. Also had a smaller Beastmen army, not sure what my aversion to any kind of ranged combat was in that game. 40k I used World Eaters and Iron Warriors, had a blast with the conversion work. But yeah, I've been eagerly awaiting the mmorpg since it was announced, will be there with bells on when it comes out.
mainly watch warhammer fantasy but played 40k with my space wolves and since there not a lot of people around to play with anymore they sit in my man room waiting for the day to be used and abused again.
If they EVER made a video game that simply, copied the table top I'd buy it in a second. Just give me online play so I can play my table top with people all over the world and I'd be there in an instant. Sorta like when magic the gathering did a game.
Periodically, I type something like "online warhammer fantasy battle" into Google in the forlorn hope that I shall discover that indeed, someone, somewhere is creating such a thing. Finding this thread actually prompted me to register for this site in order to post.
I had a huge Chaos Dwarf and Orc & Goblin army in younger days, but for a long time it has been prohibitively impractical for me to play table-top.
I'd be be willing to lay down considerable cash for a shot at Warhammer Fantasy Battle online. They could do whatever they wanted, subscription, collectible based, or just plain demand access to my bank account for an undisclosed sum.
The various Warhammer themed RTClickables that have been developed over the years just depress me. I suppose the recent Battle March has come the closest, by at least including a few statistics, point values and allowing one to compose an army, but I still end up playing what feels like a generic RTS.
For anyone like Majinash, or me, I would like to recommend a very recently released "collectible card game" called The Continuum. I find that, more so than any official licensed Games Workshop product, it captures the table-top experience very well. At heart it is a strategy and tactical wargame with role-playing elements, and I think I like it best because of the features it shares with WFB such as army construction based on the point values of different units and tactical movement on the battlefield, prior to engagement and combat. I've already seen some new features suggested that would provide an even more comparable experience, and one of the developers has confirmed that they too are a big fan of the Warhammer table-top.

Link follows for anyone intrigued.

40k: 2000 pt. Space Marines, 1000pt Necron
Fantasy: 3000 pt. Dark Elf, 2500pt. Tomb Kings
I'd love to keep playing and collecting more of these brilliant armies but its very expensive. The best way to buy miniatures now is through Ebay.
There is a huge gaming community here in Austin but I have very little time to play these days.
Also with MoC, I get my table top, regimented style combat and game play which suits me fine. Battle March looks great too.
Also if you haven't checked this out you should, Dawn of War 2! Now this game looks freakin sick and could give Starcraft 2 a run for its money.
