Does China still run this game on NA servers?

I played L2 for a period of maybe 6 months back when it first came out (I was in the beta too).. unfortunately at the time, chinese adena farmers flocked to all the servers and essentially "took over". They had workers farming every good location in the game and it was hard to do any quests, they had teams of farmers controlling rooms in the various dungeons and killing/scavengeing every mob..they even sometimes had Red-named characters they would log in to PK anyone who tried to stop them or attack mobs.

So, at the time you could say China ran the game.. a little while later I quit because it was simply pointless, has any progress in this been made? maybe the farmers have mostly moved on to more popular MMO's or are they still all over the game?

Well i just recently came back to the game and I must say it is much better than it was, UI looks great and its alot more helpfull, you can now customize your keys (which is a great feature only found out when i logged in), leveling is alot smoother and there is alot to do, with the ocasional quest wich mostly are repeatable that give you a good amount of income if you keep track of where you are xping( if you played in the previous chronicles you will know that there were 0 quests apart from the really hard ones to see antharas, etc...).

 

Now to farmers, from my lvl 70 point of view, there are still farmers when i got into blazing swamp and some XP hot spots i see a few groups here and there, but they are no longer the iloveyou2001 type chinese farmer, these are proper clanned people who are running these bot trains, either for money or just to have a high lvl reroll.

Last night I have decided to play a new character, started a human fighter and I must say the difference is really noticable, I went around Talking Island and didnt find a single farmer, to my surprise there were a few ppl leveling around the island had a chat with them to make sure they were actual players... and they were. After that island tour i thought the farmers would be all hiding inside elven ruins(the island low lvl dungeon), so went there and to my surprise there was one guy there XPing and all the rooms were free.

Are there still bots?

Yes there are, but they are no longer China farmers, they will be NA/EU players botting up their characters or simply making money, even tho it does bother me still, they are less than when you had a million china farmers, you still see them ocasionally but not even remotely as much as before. Also bare in mind im on Teon which is the biggest server population wise (apart from bartz maybe i dunno for sure).

 

Again this is my opinion from my experience so far, its been enjoyable and I think ill continue subscribing.

I think it's been about two years since any real Chinese farmers were a presence in L2. Back in OB - C1, we actually had print-out cheat sheets of Chinese so we could communicate w/ the farmers. At the time I never really did. However, a little over a year ago, I started studying Chinese and I would LOVE to meet a real Chinese person in game to practice my Chinese with, but in all that time I have not seen or met a single Chinese person. =[   LOL

 

Oh and Teon is the most populated server, runs about 2000 more people than Bartz on average.
