Yea i remember that version of warhammer but in the end there was very little real info on that version and very few screenshots so its not like we knew what it was really going to be like.
Another great example of Moore's Law. Give people access to that much space (developers and users alike) and they'll find uses for it that you can never imagine. "640K ought to be enough for anybody" - Bill Gates 1981
Have you ever been to the warhammer online website? If you scroll all the way down to the bottom you will notice the Games Workshop logo at the bottom a bit towards the right of center. GW approves of the work being done so if you really feel there's any true merit to your bitching it lies on GW moreso than Mythic. These same similar looks were also used by THQ for the 40K series of games so I don't know how how anything falls on mythic.
Screenshots on the internet also prove very little.

The graphics looked terrible but that's the Warhammer I wanted sooo dark and nasty and like the trailer says "it's no fantasy" it's how I personally imagine the Warhammer world.
---------------------------------------- Talking about SWG much?
Never seen that trailer for WOW before and I have to say it's looking Fantastic I look at WAR and see a ugly horrible world and then look at that trailer and they've taken soooo much effort into creating a interesting world I want to explore.

Really? you must be looking at a different video then. And you ignor the fact that version of warhammer doesant exist anymore as well as the fact that trailer was probably made years before anyone heard of Wrath of the Lich king. Also your post is a bit off topic.

What? Are you serious? They look nothing like each other granted the warhammer graphics look dated in that video but it looks no where near as cartoony as WoW.

To be fare both videos are 2 different videos with very different purpose's in mind.
The old War one was a video designed to preview the game showing the various iconic warhammer monsters that were in it with a famousWarhammerCelebrity giving an onimousevoice-over.
Meanwhile the WoW video is a preview video of the new expansion designed to showcase the new areas it introduces as well as some of the new features it has such as sieges. It also has a voiceover who is supposed to give you a basic introduction of the expansions story.
So yea War video is ugly but it is supposed to be as that version was more darker. And the Wow video is pretty because its showcasing a new expansion.

It looked so much better. It was dark and evil looking. Man did they take that and completely turn it into a cartoon mess,
WAR is pretty true to the Warhammer aesthetic. Mythic didn't turn anything into a "cartoon mess". I guess you never saw any of the source material from the actual RPG. And that video you showed displays almost nothing of character design, so I'm not sure how you get the idea that it was so much darker.
Warhammer has always been pretty bleak in terms of its overarching storyline, but somewhat "cartoony" in terms of its visuals. I don't really consider it cartoony, myself. I consider it Warhammer.
You see, there is two versions of Warhammer - The slightly comical tabletop, and the RPG(PnP game released in the early 1990's or was it late 1980's).
While the tabletop had many comical features, WHFRPG was dark and gritty - A cruel world where the influences of chaos was ever present, where corruption was found in all corners of the society.. Even within Sigmars own church.
To me it looked like Climax sougth out the WHFRPG as an inspiration, rather than the tabletop game. This could also be seen on the way that they handled characters - If i remember correctly, they used proffesions instead of classes. Much like in SWG, a proffesion branched out into different paths. WHFRPG had 3 or 4 tiers of classes, but it was still possible to go from a tier 1 -> tier 1.
An interresting take on the franchise, a shame it was dumped.
So... between the old (top link) and the new (bottom link) you prefer the old one?
Sorry, I cannot honestly believe it. the old graphics sucked really really bad. the models looked made of plastic and were completely fake. Yes, it had a gloomy atmosphere of it, I guess because their art department was so depressed in not being able to make better stuff....

I dont know...call me crazy (and I probably am) but remembered playing Warhammer back in 1990 and it looked cartoony like that.
But i could be wrong

It was when GamesWorkshop was still building it a few years back.
