Thank you for the information months in advance, However not thank you for waiting until after the CE pre orders to be purchased.

While its not a end to my hopes of playing Warhammer i can honestly say that i was looking forward to having 6 cities. Always hate when things you look forward too are removed.

I'll resist the urge to say something lame like "I share your pain" but in all honesty, I do know how you feel. However, if you do feel that WAR might not meet your expectations, cancel your CE and wait to see what happens and try to pre-order again down the road. While pre-ordering a game that is still in development always carries some risk, by announcing these changes now people can still cancel and/or decide not to pre-order the CE until we get closer to launch. OTOH, you might want to wait till we lift the NDA before canceling and we will be doing so well in advance of WAR shipping and that way you'll still get your CE.

NDA lift, well in advance... happy

mark, i do wanna bet. And i may lose. Honestly, i hope i lose, i really really do. Like i said, i still have faith that you guys can make an amazing game, just the details behind cuts to classes seem unnecessarily vague.

So please, sell me on the dark elf areas. Tell me how elf on elf scenarios will be improved from the last beta phase by adding a Melee dps for the high elves and continuing to not have a tank for dark elves.

Honestly, i'm practically begging. Seriously, please sell me, and everyone else, on why the dark elf areas are still worth visiting, and why i shouldn't be worried about missing a tank, considering what happened in the last beta phase. Are the people on here that say WP and DoK are now tanks correct? have you really fallen back on blurring archetypes to make indistinct classes? or is there some specific thing i'm missing, aside from the fleeting hope that chosen and black orcs will want to visit my zone. Please, just tell us specifically why the blackguard only worked on paper. I've had a lot of folks tell me to just take your word for it, but sorry, questioning authority is both healthy and natural.

I want to love this game. I want to love it so badly, because i see so many amazing things and daring features that no one has attempted, but with certain changes to certain classes like the WE and WH, and then the excision of two tanks, knowing what it was like to not have them, especially in the last beta phase, and seeing how well their mirrors perform in other beta phases, i just can't escape the creeping dread that what looked to be the mmo finally made for a pvp player like me, is slowly becoming no different than the existing competition it was supposed to rise above. As it stands, it looks like WAR is set to make par, which is ok. It will do "well enough" even with the changes. But thats not what i wanted, i wanted greatness, and a lot of that came from your enthusiasm for this game and its features like no stealth, and no casters sitting back waving their hands, and war on 3 fronts, and solid differentiated archetypes for every racial pairing, and instead of focusing on 1v1 balance, focusing on racial pairs balancing, and a working rock paper scissors system.

You sold me on this game, with every newsletter and every video, every interview and every screenshot. Even in beta, balance issues i saw and discussed, my and other's opinion was that the missing classes would balance things out, and that belief came from your enthusiasm and communication. Now things are faltering, so please, i implore you, sell this game to me again. Make me think its still going to be amazing, but do it this time with concrete evidence, not just smiles and exciting body language.

Well, I can tell you this much regarding the changes we announced today:

1) The cities are better than they would have been if we didn't make this change. They have so much more cool stuff in them and they really are something quite special.

2) The classes we removed weren't cutting it. By removing classes that wouldn't have worked well at launch we will have fewer problems and issues to deal with after we launch. That will make for a better experience for the player.

3) If the way the realms are set up now do not work in this next stage of beta, we will find a way to make them work by either working with the existing classes or delaying the game again until we find a way to make it work with new or modified classes.

4) I've always said that this game will ship when it's great, I've never said it will only ship if it has 24 classes, 6 cities, 5210 quests, etc. Nothing has changed about that. If the game is great and ready to be launched, it will be launched. If it isn't, it will be held back.

5) As to WAR still being great for PvP players, I hope that what we've done will make it better for PvP players, not worse. A PvP player wants to, of course, PvP. If the fronts were too spread out, the city sieges too long in between occurrences, etc. PvP players would be the most disappointed. Frankly, I think these changes will make the RvR action in WAR more intense and city sieges happen more often. If we're wrong, we'll fix it before we launch.

6) We are in the process of opening new servers and letting in tens of thousands of people in this next stage of beta. If we didn't have faith in the game, that is the last thing we would do. It's because we have this faith, buoyed by the feedback we've been getting in beta so far, that I know WAR will be a great game when it's done.

As always, wait to see what happens and draw your own conclusions from what you see.

Now we just have to get the hate mongers to actually read all that with an open mind!

haters will continue to hate the game. I just made this post to let the others know that mark is out there reading wnd responding to what players are saying(on VN boards).  I personally enjoyed the one that mark "lmao" to a so called hardcore dedicated fan. anyways, VN is crawling with alot of opinons both good and bad. The big difference is that alot of current and ex-daoc gamers troll those boards along with alot of current beta testers. These guys like myself still have alot of faith that mythic can and will pull this off.

Well, as crappy as AoC is, they could make 4 classes Warrior, Rogue, Mage, Priest.

    Have one city.

They would still beat the pants off of AoC.

Also....Mythic, please fix your site and remove the classes that were announced to be cut.
