A fellow mmorpg.com member and I discovered that SOE's program to allow recruitment is a bit vague. It will appear to you that you must download the Play the Fae trial once you setup your account, this is false, you are entitled to the full game and all its content. I am not sure how you get your account enabled without clicking the getting started, but I believe you simply must click getting started, but,

To download EverQuest II click here for the installer. The download may be quite large and take a significant time. If you do not have your Station Account name and password, click here. Many people choose to download over night.

 

I tested an account I gave away from those keys, he had formally begun the station launcher and download. It is not the Play the Fae that you are getting, it is the download above, thank-you, and enjoy.

 

(A fine way to see if you are ready to use the download I mentioned is to check account status and make sure you have the living legacy promo of all the expansioned entitled to your account )

Update:  Vista Users

This is still the correct version for you, there's no reason you shouldn't be able to use the full client since you're entitled for it. However, the person here I've been working with to solve this issue has had an error and it thankfully, is only a VISTA, error, not an error in client choice and should be solveable, read this for details:

hi, as Krith_TD said, if you disable the User Account Check function the launchpad will work.

 

Go into the control panel,

 

click on "User Accounts",

 

Click on "User Accounts" again,

 

click on the "Turn User Account Control on or off" link,

 

untick "Use User Account Control (UAC) to help protect your computer"

 

now click on ok.

 

You will need to restart your PC and will see a little security alert window pop up once your desktop is loaded. Just ignore it.

Just making sure new downloaders of the game see this thread. The play the fae client is quite limited and you truly can use the main client with the key giveaways.

I am on the Nagafen server and I am loving it.....My IGN is Niceandslow and so far the pvp has been a lot of fun.....
