Well, I don't mind a little brighter, easier to see.

But no pastel colors please, not real Diablo-ish.

it is just becoming apperant that the sucess of wow suprised blizzard and now there trying to clone that style art wise and what not to stuff there releasing for other franchises that had no right to be related to any style of the wow mmo albeit art and or the cheesy easy gameplay.

I like the look of Diablo III.

If the number was closer to 250,000 Blizzard might care, but for 30k, they won't even bat an eye.  Also the darker the theme the harder sell it is to parents.

Well the market for this game is not really for the youngers in my opinion, hell My dad is a Diablo fanatic and he's 74 any change in III might be a pretty big detractor for allot of people, 30k for a petition is nothing to sneeze at. Statically that 30K could represent over 100K in disgruntled fan's  especially since the announcement is fairly new and it seems the petition got a base pretty fast.

As for myself I prefer the darker style of the game as it made it different from the original Warcraft an Starcraft. If anything they should be trying to capitalize on the titles darkness not lighten it up.

Oh look...an internet petition! Now things will change, for sure!

I think people just like being angry. I still don't see what people are upset about. Nothing looks any less gritty to me.

With the amount of weight Blizzard gives to people who cry out for change, it wouldn't surprised me if they already had people running around Anaheim crying about the sky falling.

However, the game is pretty close to finish obviously and I doubt they would be willing to change the entire theme of the game just because a couple thousand people didn't like it. No doubt the game will sell millions anyways and Blizzard knows that.

    Diablo 3 looks o k to me

It's simple to say most of these people will end up buying the game anyway, no real threat to Blizzard.

it looks fine, im not going to not buy it because its not dark enough(LOL). Some people just need to take a chill pill and take it at what it is. A sequal to the story of diablo.

Looks just as dark to me....

I guess some people just refuse to understand that you cannot make a sunlit desert zone "dark".  I call those people goths, and generally ignore their opinions on just about everything.

Sorry but e-petitions are worthless because bots and spammers take advantage and sign them over and over again. Even if it were truly 30,000 individual persons that would be a drop in the bucket when compared with the rest of the Diablo 3 fans base out there.

Oh and in the game play video how is the Male Barbarian being ripped apart and female Witchdoctor being smashed and tossed away like a rag doll not gritty for these folks? Some people just need a reason to complain IMHO.

Games I've played/tried out:WAR, LOTRO, Tabula Rasa, AoC, EQ1, EQ2, WoW, Vangaurd, FFXI, D&DO, Lineage 2, Saga Of Ryzom, EvE Online, DAoC, Guild Wars,Star Wars Galaxies, Hell Gate London, Auto Assault, Grando Espada ( AKA SoTNW ), Archlord, CoV/H, Star Trek Online, APB, Champions Online, FFXIV, Rift Online, GW2.

    Game(s) I Am Currently Playing:

    GW2 (+LoL and BF3)

Just a bunch of nerds raging, an online petition... lmfao. You would think people had better things to do than get 'disgruntled' over the looks of a game. As if anyone cares what these guys think, they'll end up playing the game anyway.

Now I see the point the nay-sayers are trying to make, and I mean they have a point I suppose.  Humorously enough, the thought that kept looping through my head was, "couldn't they just cut down the gamma?"  Not being serious just my sad attempt at humor.  As unrealistic as that suggestion is in fixing things...I just can't stop it from playing back through my mind.

Best part about that link is seeing the far over exaggerated movie then seeing what the games really look like ..lmao..barely acceptable for even a playstation 1 game.

Yawn.  People actually think this is news, which is hilarious.  What's really sad is that Yahoo frontpaged it.  Why isn't it news?  Well, I played Diablo extensively, before and after it became Hack City.  I played D2 extensively, even after the currency of choice there became duped HR's.  In fact, right now, I'm trying to mash out with tech support how to fix the digital download option they're offering now.  I've also played just about everything else Blizzard has released.  The only games I didn't buy at launch were the original Warcraft and the stuff before that.  I'm not a Blizzard fanboy, though.  I'm the first to admit that WoW screws up in some major ways (C'mon, guys!  Only 1,000 more ogre kills to get exalted and ride our shiny new talbuks!  Endgame content!).  I'm mostly mentioning all this to say that I've been there and done that as far as watching Blizzard launches.

This is a drop in the ocean compared to the bitching about other titles.  I'd say there were about twice as many people who said WoW would fail because of the rest system before it launched, and twice as many people who said Starcraft's art was complete shit before it was launched.

If you look at the b.net forums, where all of this started, there are still some people bitching about this, but most of them have gotten over it.  If you bring it up now, more people will just tell you to STFU than agree.  Not that it matters, as the controversy is far from over.  There will be bitching from here until launch date.  I will break it down for you.

    1.  People whine about models (done)

    2.  People whine about colors (done)

    3.  People whine about gold as a primary currency in D3 (done)

    4.  People whine about inventory using slots rather than a grid (done)

    5.  People whine about PvP (done)

I could add about seven more things to make this a whole dozen, all of which have already blown through b.net, all of them based on a few videos and vague comments.  And on top of that, there will probably be a dozen more "controversies".  Lets skip to the final step, though.

    666.  Despite all the whining we've done, all of us Diablo fanatics go out and buy Diablo anyway.

And that last step is why Blizzard doesn't really give a damn about petitions and will do what they think is best.  Y'know, I don't really mind that.  Blizzard might make mistakes, but on the whole, I think they're better at making games than the tards at b.net.

As I understood it, there is potions.  That's in addition to the red "orbs" that heal you that drop off of the enemies that you kill.

    Could be wrong though.

No required quests! And if I decide I want to be an assassin-cartographer-dancer-pastry chef who lives only to stalk and kill interior decorators, then that's who I want to be, even if it takes me four years to max all the skills and everyone else thinks I'm freaking nuts. -Madimorga-
