P2P?

Is Atlantica P2P? I'm really sick of all the MMO's out there, they all feel the same (this may be the case for Atlantica), however...if its P2P I'll give it a try in beta, if its another paper F2P game, I'm just going to avoid it.

The current korean version is F2p so its most likely going to be F2P, but I see nothing wrong with this game, it's perfectly fine, and most players from the Korean game say that the cash shop doesnt add that much of a bonus.

I stumbled onto this game about two weeks ago. If it is indeed P2P that is a little disappointing because it looks like it is going to rock and im kind of strapped when it comes to dishing out extra money. If it stays F2P like the Korean servers then i'm all game!

There's a button in the official's website menu that says "ITEM MALL" - what does this say to you?

To me that say's "if you want to, send us money for special items but it's not required to play our game". So technically, voluntarily paying money for items that can only be acquired with real-world currency is not P2P.

Exactly ;) So it looks it's gonna be F2P + item shop ;)

Are item shops even worth the money? to be honest, i've never purchased anything from an item shop and most of the F2P mmo's i have played have one. I've looked at a few and the only type of stuff i saw was extra health potions, extra mana potions, new pets, in-game currency, to name a few. Do they sell helpful things like powerful weapons or armor only attainable through the shop? Just curious...

It's too soon to tell (CB starts on july the 18th; only the fileplanet members had the opportunity to start playing on the 15th); they could sell everything in the item mall, from customization items to xp and stats boosters. Since the mercenaries are upgradable, my guess is that the neccessary items for their last upgrades will be item shop. But we'll see...

Aside from gameplay boost, item malls are usually for aesthetics. Different costumes and dyes, etc. Depends on the game, but most item malls are for aesthetics to appeal to gamers.

Some item malls mess up the game to where you just cant PvP without it because theres loads of other people speding 500+ dollars a month on it.

That is the most idiotic thing i've heard of. Well, i cant say that if i had enough money to blow i'd spend tons of it on a game but i would probably put at least a little into it. I think it's unfair to make it so game progression can only be done by putting 200 or even 100 dollars into a game each month.

well. my hope is that the iteam mall will only sell iteams that don't affected the game that much.

because it's not fun to play a game if youre power will be set after how many money you use on the game...

i sure hope it's not one of them
