If you bought the digital download from LOTRO.com it's free.. if not don't think it's possible. Though you might be able to download the trial and just log into your normal account.
Once you get in the game. You want to put the graphics at very high setting. Then in ADV grahpics under Texturing, you want to make sure the Texture Detail is set at Very High, and the Texture Filtering is set to at least Very Sharp. If your Texture Filtering is any lower than that you will get the low res textures.
Then you want to take many screenshots of graphical awesomeness to share with everyone here on MMORPG!
If your looking for boosted gfx, the high res client is your best bet with dx 10 with vista.
The real boost will come with Moria xpac as that was designed from the ground up with dx10 in mind and Turbine is trying to push the envelope as best they can.
Alright i got the game up and running and it looks great thanks alot for the advice guys Now i need some help on servers which ones are the most populated and friendly im also looking for a guild if anyone has one One more question how do rangers do in combat and group "wanting"
Brandywine is the most populated, but it is at the moment OVER populated. You might try Landroval if you don't want server lag, they will all have decent amount of players.
There is no Ranger class. There are Hunters though, and they fulfill the ranged dps archtype. The most group friendly class would be the Minstrel I think, which is a totally awesome class IMO, lots of fun with different tiers of songs that segue into eachother. It is a different approach to the bard, with the focus on being a healer.

Alrighty thanks so much for the feed back
Also put anti-anasing (spelling?) at X4 to make the game stop having jagged edges.
