What video graphics card do you recommend?

I'm pretty naive with computers, but I think I will have to upgrade my video card for newer games such as WAR.

Here is what I currently have:  (not sure how much info you need to give me a good assessment)

Card name: RADEON X300 Series

     Manufacturer: ATI Technologies Inc.

Chip type: RADEON X300 SE (0x5B60)

         DAC type: Internal DAC(400MHz)

       Device Key: EnumPCIVEN_1002&DEV_5B60&SUBSYS_03021002&REV_00

   Display Memory: 128.0 MB

     Current Mode: 1024 x 768 (32 bit) (60Hz)

          Monitor: Dell M993s

  Monitor Max Res: 1600,1200

What card do you recommend I buy if I want to upgrade?  Thanks in advance to anyone that can recommend specific video cards.

EDIT: System Manufacturer: Dell Inc.

       System Model: Dimension 4700

BIOS: Phoenix ROM BIOS PLUS Version 1.10 A10

          Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.80GHz (2 CPUs)

             Memory: 3326MB RAM

Page File: 439MB used, 4261MB available

        Windows Dir: C:WINDOWS

    What does your motherboard support?

    Does it support PCI Express?

    Dual or single?

    PCI-E x16?

Are you looking for DirectX 10 support?

What is it that you're trying to run exactly?

And what are your other specs? An over powered graphics card wont do you much on a subpar system.

I dont know what your price range is but i suggest the 8800gt, it was the best card last year and still the best card. you cant go wrong with it now, you can find it for 150 bucks some places. DX10 or DX 9 is a question that has no importance when buying a new card today. All of them are dx capable. You shouldnt even be concidering a card that isnt.

This card can run crysis on max graphics. the 4000 series ati card might be better but keep in mind, it is totally unnessesairy, especially if you are just an mmo player. And even if you weren't... the video cards are moving faster then the games. 8800 gt will be all you need for a while to come.

While the 8800gt is a great card, it's starting to get dated. Yeah, it's price effective, but how much longer is it really going to last you? Sure, if he's running an outdated single or dual core PC, which I am assuming he may well be, running a dell and all, it will last him a bit.

So yeah, with your current rig, good recommendation.
