....has become quite unenjoyable. I am game player, not a forum player. The latest generation of PC gamer, as is most often represented here, is rude, often crass and doesn't know the difference between contructive criticism and flaming. People have made this site not about games we love, but about games we hate and that we want others to hate. This is destructive and against the intent of what a site like this should be. Because of  this and the lack of good policing by site moderators  MMORPG.com is nothing like what it once was. I'll leave you all to your petty trolling and sniping... I'd rather be playing a game or checking out a site with a more mature and fair base of users. Adios.

Well OnRPG is right next door, but I bet spending a week there would make us look like the best mmorpg forum out there. Well I don't know what to say about your problem, but nice knowing that you care.

Well, I will say that I will visit at least once a week to read a review or two, see what contests are going or if new games are announced. There still aree many people here who are fair and have my respect even if I do not agree with them. But generally their are to many whiners and complainers in the forums. I look at their profiles and see most of them are under the age of 25. It's a sad commentary on those generations. Some people of those generations that is. I just wanted to leave on a fair note and not generalize everyone here.

It's one of the reasons why I stick to the Off-Topic boards and maybe the Pub.  I used to visit AoC boards before the game was launched and at that time intelegent posts and well thought out comments could still be found.  After the release it all went down the shit hole.  Same thing with WAR boards just faster.  It was great about 4 months ago, but as of late it's full of crap that's mostly not worth reading.

I think I'll just start working more.  At least that way when I take a vacation I'll have the money to leave the country and visit places I've always wanted to.

Off topic forum now is like a "lets a create a subject to see how much we can offend each other (i.e., religion, politics, etc). Its so bad.

Back when the site was first created up to about 2005ish, the off topic forum was really civil and the off topic usually had humorous posts or were generally fun.

However, you do have to blame the moderation as much as the users tho. Just cannot blame the immaturity of the users.  This time about three years ago a religion or politics thread got locked at the FIRST hint of a flame war.  Mods, these days, just looks at their "report page" and hardly ever browse the forums on their own to make sure everything is kosher.
