    Rubakai:

If you are interested in the game or curious what it's about, you really should check it out, otherwise you'll never know if the game is for you or not.

Take TdogSkal's advice, join EVE University.  This is one great and very helpful bunch of people.

There is a 14 day free trial, so you don't even risk anything other than a little time.

Gor for it!  You know you want to.  ;)

Eschiava -  I am thinking of going after a Caldari Stealth Bomber.  (getting my crusier and all skills need to fly it for both missions and PvP in the process).

What do you think of SB's?  Are they worth the effort to get the skills for them?  Are they too hard for a noob like me to figure out?  Any other idea/comments.

Caldari -Civire - military - soldier were my charater chocies during creation if that helps

    Tdog,

I can't really answer your questions directly because I don't have any direct experience with stealth bomber ships.

I can share my own perspective though and how I would go about such a training program if it was me.  Also, don't hesitate to ask around EVE U. what others think of the ship and see what you can learn that way.

For myself, I believe that every ship in EVE has a role or roles, and that any ship can be fun to fly if properly trained and practiced.  But before I embarked on such a training program I would be sure of a couple of things.

First, how long will it take to train the skills to fly the ship AND to fit it reasonably well.  One of the best ways in EVE to get blown up is to fly ships that you can only inadequately fit.

Next, I would make sure that my current training was sufficient to give me things to do that I find fun until the training program is done.

I would also want to research how much the new ship will cost along with some decent modules and make sure that I will be able to afford multiple copies and insurance by the time I am able to fly it.

Finaly, I never get angry with myself if I decide to postpone a long term goal in order to fullfill a short term desire.  For instance, say you are half way to your stealth bomber and decide, you know, I really would like to try out micro warp drives on my cruiser or work on agility and turret tracking for my frigate.  If it will enhace the game you are playing currently, go for it (I would anyway), the delay in the long term goal won't be that long and it will give you a new toy to play with. :)

Tdog, I'm no expert by a long shot. I played eve solidly for a couple of years, then took a break and came back about a month ago.

However, I love stealth bombers. Although I'm fighting for Gallente, I regularly pilot a Manticore (Caldari ship) because it's not insanely expensive, can be very effective, tricky to target, and above all, I find it one hell of a load of fun.

You can find a discussion about Manticore loadouts on Eve-O here.

Tdog, from your other posts you are a killer at heart, (no offense) and SB's IMO aren't the way to go.  You prefer to win based on your own skill, so I'd say take the nano route, and start training for some form of Interceptor/HAC combo.   Ceptors will get you to T2 PVP almost as fast as SB's, but you will be much more effective, both solo and in groups.

Here's another idea, EVE University is great training for PVE (and some PVP) but you might want to check these folks out down the road.

They offer some very intense PVP training classes for all levels of players (get yourself a few rifters and they'll have you out killing stuff in a week or two from now.)

If you really like their group, you can consider joining their corp if you are ready.

I know you want to get to PVP quick, so hooking up with a group like this (or some willing pirate corps) would be the best thing to fit your temperment.

Just don't want you turned off from EVE by spending too much time carebearing in Empire

I agree, most of the time I play a DPS (killer type) or a tank but something about the SB sounds fun in PvP even if I cant one shot ships... PvP... I hate solo pvp so I dont care if my ship can solo or not... I want a group ship.

HAC sounds cool and I setup a skill plan for a HAC and that is my long term goal with the SB being a medium term goal and the Cruiser (Cacaral) as my short term goal.

hehe I tend to make goals in RL and in games, just habit.
