How could anyone expect anything differently? Only small independent firms would aim at the pre swg-nge style mmo market, instead of the WoW market, due to expectations in financial returns. The little guys don't aim as high as the big guys.

Well I loved the KoToR single player game and the time period it was set in(btw - KotoR is the only single player game that ever made me cry in RL when I had finished it ) and I think it will make a far better SW Universe.   My hope is that Bioware does it right and not give us a WoW clone or an SWG mess.

    What made you cry?

I suppose it was the whole story arc and how the character denounced their past and tried to make things right in the end.     I loved the ending.   Sorta like the LoTR's movies.  In the end when King told the hobbits they need bow to no one and then evetyone bowed to them instead.    That was a tear jerker ending.

Sorry but blogs to me are not credible sources of information especially when they don't link to their sources of information. If I can see a video or hear a audio clip then I'll say "Okay EA is doing KOTOR MMO". Also even if this news is true it won't be anything like pre-NGE SWG. Again highly doubtful this rumor is true.

Mind you we're talking bout Massively- a site in which their people are deployed at E3 where they can talk to PR from people at the showroom floor (just like mmorpg.com)

I have full faith in BioWare's abilities to make a great game.  I've thoroughly enjoyed all of their games (Mass Effect being the most recent and my favorite) and IMO are the best developers when it comes to RPGs.  I know that MMO's are different than single player RPG's but I'm sure BioWare will get it right, no matter what it is.

like you I don't expect a sandbox but I do expect a truly polished Linear game. But I hope they add in some player driven content of a sort.

At least get some good world pvp going between Sith and Jedi. that all they need to crush WAR and WoW.

for sure it will have Classes just like all the other Bioware RPGs. I've played almost all and they always use Classes. But, they classes are always 'loose'. They are never 'tight' and restricted like WoW. In Mass Effect and KOTR you can cross train

Yeah the concept for the original KOTOR was pretty good in terms of classes.  You were able to combine non Jedi classes and Jedi classes together.  I'm not certain of this could work in an MMO, but it's a nice idea.  Start as a normal class and then switch to Jedi/Sith at a certain point.

After SWG, if there are ANY playable Jedi, you can forget the whole game.

I have faith in Bioware.  Both KOTOR games were awesome, and this is great news. Can't wait to see some trailers.

Actually, it wouldn't surprise me if everyone was a jedi, just with different skill sets.

Why do I write, create, fantasize, dream and daydream about other worlds? Because I hate what humanity does with this one.

BOYCOTTING EA / ORIGIN going forward.

I don't know what to expect as far as game mechanics.  I just know it's going to be really polished.  They've been working on it for a couple years and haven't tipped off anything so you know they aren't rushing or hyping.  Both o fwhich I can appreciate.

In some ways I can see them sticking with the linear style but then againthis is their first MMO.  Maybe they'll try something new.

I trust EA as much as i trust SOE..so i'll not get excited just yet.

I love Bioware, but if EA has some involvement i'm sure they'll screw something up.

Not that its going to help.....

Did anyone else get a bad taste in their mouth reading his claim that EA is responsible for these games being developed ?

EA has had its fair share of problems, but BioWare isn't know for just shelling out crap.

I hope they have more then just jedi, and hopefully they are digging deep into the races in the SW universe.

EA is changing a lot as a company it seems. With allowing mythic to change their name back and taking a less active roll in what Id and BioWare will do I think we are seeing them become a true publisher.  Besides BioWares old CEO is now running EA (I think) so they probably have more freedom than any other developer under EA.

Also I have heard that the BioWare MMO has a 100 million dollar budget .

    Playing: Tera, BF3, ME3

    Waiting on: Guild Wars 2

It would have to.  How much do you think it would cost just to license the Start Wars name?

Dunno but that includes BioWare's, Lucas Arts' and EA's money.
