certainly looks good. They got rid of the slightly cartoonish sort of look to the before one in the after, and the after generally looks a little more built and defined than the before.
But seriously, I do think that the "new" models are better, but it disturbs me that all the before/after samples they posted show different characters with different equipment. Only some things (like the bracers and the boots in OP's sample) are quite identical, and show that the resolution detail has somewhat increased.

I'm not at all sure I like the art in this game. I like the idea of the grungy look but it could be done much better.

I think the updates are definitely an improvement but I too have a lot of reservation about it.

So it went from SWG graphics to EVE.. except in EVE you didnt get an avatar, well.. not one that could move, it was just that pic.
