New 2d Side Scroller?

I heard from a friend that there was a new 2d side scroller comming out that was a bit more mature than MapleStory?  I really liked the gameplay style of maplestory but the game was clearly made for kids and there was just no way I could stomach all the children and the style of the game.  I would love to see a 2d side scroller that was made for more mature players.  Maybe even a little blood or just more of a fantasy style setting instead of fairly tale land like Maple.

 

Not hating on maple, good concept and would certainly appeal to a lot of kids just not the style for me. 

 

Anyone heard of such a game?
