Well It's day two, I am now a 24 champion on Lamorak Classic Server.. I must say, this game is very fun now that I got the hang of it...
I must say, pvp is very different then WoW... Especially when trying to use melee abilities 0.o, I become the debuff bitch heh..
Anyway I have some more questions =p.
1. Are there class specific quests or something? Or like character class upgrades? Or is it , just hit 50 and get some gear then pvp..
2. Is it possible to respec later on? I have been spending my points in 2h / Valor , if I decide later on to switch my playstyle can I respec?
3. Is there anything important that I should know about or not to forget to do?
4. How should I spend my realm skills?
Thanks for the help!

1. It's more or less just hit 50 and go RVR. When you get to 45 you'll be able to start the Champion Levels. There are 10 of them and at the end you get a very good weapon. Start them at 45 because at that point they'll provide you with quite a bit of exp and help you hit 50 that much easier. When I played Midgard I used the CL 2handed sword for my warrior because it's arguably one of the best weapons you can get at the end no matter what class you are.
2. Yes it is possible to respec. If I recall correctly you get a free respec at 20 and 40 so that you can modify your spec. There are also Respec Stones that drop from various dungeons throughout the world that you can then turn in to an NPC and all your points will be returned to you. There are stones for your skill points as well as your realm abilities so you can fix or alter anything as you please it just might cost you.
3. I'd say go and hang out in the Battle Grounds and just pvp like it's going out of style. You get tons of exp for it, and at your level you'll start getting realm points as well.
4. Here's a table that shows you when you get a realm skill point to spend toward an ability. Also if you want to know what abilities you get as a champion you can go here to find out. Realm abilities just augment your spec and what you have to start with. The timed RA's give you ways to heal yourself every 15 minutes or so or to purge mezz or root or any other disabling ability. Static tempest gives you a storm like thing that stuns everybody around you repeatedly making it hard for them to do anything for a little bit giving you a chance to either escape or finish someone off.
Hope that helps you out. If you got more questions either post them here or just PM me and I'll see if I can help you out.
No required quests! And if I decide I want to be an assassin-cartographer-dancer-pastry chef who lives only to stalk and kill interior decorators, then that's who I want to be, even if it takes me four years to max all the skills and everyone else thinks I'm freaking nuts. -Madimorga-
Not to hijack your thread but i thought ucouldnt begin champion levels until 50?
Greatness is difficult to appreciate from close up. The great mountain on the horizon is only the ground when you are standing on it.
When I played my warrior I completed all the quests for it starting at 45. That way when i got to 50 everything was done and bam! I had the points to spend and get my CL stuff. The exp I gained starting at 45 helped quite a bit since they were sizable chunks and some decent gold too.

Don't forget to buy back your CON if you die.
Seriously tho, glad to see you are enjoying the game! This game isn't dead like so many people try to make it out to be, and every new person keeps it on life support.

You are correct. No champion levels until 50, however you can do the champion quests at 30+, they are level specific (30+, 40+, etc.) Waiting until you are 45 is a good idea because the reward xp scales with your level. So doing the level 30 quest still gives good xp at 45. Once you reach 50, you can start gaining champ levels with champ xp, note that you get champ xp for quests, rvr, killing mobs, etc.
1. There are class specific quests every 5 levels (epic). It ends with your receiving a full set of level 50 armor. Although you can do other quests for xp or rewards, the reality is that now days it is faster to grind in the bonus xp zones. Currently all zones that are RvR enabled offer 200% xp, which is by far the fastest xp in the game. If you are under 30, look at running in the frontiers behind your relic keep gates near Druim Ligen or Druim Cain. Unless the gates are open, there won't be any enemy realm PC's out there to gank you. Make sure you check the realm war map to make sure (shift-M). Classic and SI zones offer 150% xp, all other zones offer regular xp.
I recommend you go to battlegrounds whenever you get a chance, because it allows you to learn your class and many others. As a "newb" to the game, you are going to get killed, alot. But you have to learn somewhere, and better in bg's than when a whole group of 50's are expecting you to do the right thing in RvR. Just bear in mind that older players of the game, just like wow, have permanent toons that they keep the best gear on for BG levels. In DAOC you can turn xp and rps off, so just remember that the little kobold hunter that just beat you in melee probably has max rps for that BG, the best equipment possible and many hours of not days played just on that toon in that BG. Anyhow, you have to learn what is possible and BGs are the best, and generally most fun, start.
2. It is always possible to respec. You get a free respec after ever patch "/respec mythic". Note also that if you go into TNN, the royal accountant (i think) might have you eligible for a couple of free respec stones. Later on in life, you will learn how to get cash and will be able to either buy respec stones easily, or get in the groups that go farm them.
3. Have fun and remember what I said about other players in rvr. Many people you will face have had years to gather up the gear and cash to equip themselves, and they have lots of RAs beyond yours. You will get killed quickly by some of them. In pve, if you want to learn your realm, do some quests as they generally take you all over and you have to learn horse routes, hidden towns, dungeons, etc. If you want to level up, go grind on some stuff in an rvr zone and cross your fingers you don't get ganked. Just remember RvR deaths cost you nothing, no xp loss, no con loss, just lost time.
- If you need cash, get into darkness falls as much as possible. The mobs there drop tons of cash and also drop emerald, saphire, and diamond seals. The cash you keep, the seals you can use to get equipment from the vendors near the entrance.
- If you don't have cash, but need equipment: Find out where the instanced dungeon, "ID", is for your level. Go in there and kill mobs for aurulite, which can be traded for gear in the shar labyrinth (i think its called in Hib). Note you need the catacombs expansion for that.
- Lastly, if you need help, say something in this thread in the next couple days. I don't play my Hib on classic much anymore, but I do have a couple level 50's there that could probably help you out.
Yeah I forgot about those trainer quests. They tend to give you good equipment for your level as well as a full suit of armor at level 50 that can last you for a rank or 2 till you get the money for spell crafted stuff.
