Atlantica Online

Recently mmorpg.com gave out some free keys for the closed beta  testing of Atlantica Online. While admittidly at first I was just playing it as a filler just take fill the void until another game came out. However once I got into the game I couldn't have been more pleased that i had tried this game out. I had put it many of the things that I had enjoyed in many past games such as the turn based fighting from ff7.

You start out by trying to find out what is happening in this forest and then along the whole world as it seems it is linked to everything. Along the way you find new mercenaries that you can use pretty much like your main character you can give them weapons, armor, and scrolls to use however the difference is at levels 20 and 50 you can upgrade you mercenaries to stronger versions. As well as getting the ability to not only have quite a few mercenaries with you but you can also party with another two people too combine all of your groups to make a devastating combination. Now for those of you that love crafting there is loads of crafting in Atlantica however its a bit different then what your use to. First of all you learn quite a few skills from the main storyline that you play through in but after that if you wanted to up you skill you would have to of course make stuff. So you get the stuff hit the crafting button and then your not done yet you have to go and kill groups of monsters to get your workload to where it needs to be. After you get your experience in a skill to the amount needed you can go to a trainer to get it pushed up to the next level however in this game you have to pay 10k plus an additional 1k for each following level but it pays off in the end. Not only can you make bigger and better stuff that but once you get high enough you can train other people in that skill saving them the time and the money of going and getting it upgraded. Now there are around twenty or so skills which have 100 levels a piece so if your one of those people who are disappointed with games that its easy to get crafting to the max level look no further.

Based upon what is there so far is what I think is the making of a great game ,but thats not it of course you have to have a guild function. The only requirement to make a guild is that you are level 20 and have 50k now it may be easy to make a guild but not as easy to expand and maintain it. When you create the guild you have a maintenance fee to keep the guild going. Now your guild starts out only being able to have 4 members however that is quickly remedied by leveling up your guild by doing quests and have members online. Your guild will level up when it gets to a certain amount of experience which will then boost how many members you can hold and also you maintenance fee. Now there are many towns throughout the world and if you have 1k guild points( which you get from have members on to doing guild quests) you can have control of one of these towns. Once you have control of a town you can invite wondering merchants and people to come to your town to make it bigger and better. Also you collect the taxes from people buying and selling there. Once you get your guild level high enough you can go and create a nation making your guild even that much more powerful.

Now if you thought they couldn't add more to this game you thought wrong when fighting monsters if you kill a certain monster enough you get basic information on it which means you can now see the monster in your monster section and you do 110% damage to it. You can progressively get you knowledge higher all the way up to level three, two being you able to see where to go to find it and tree being you knowing what it drops and getting more items from it. When you get this basic knowledge it shows just how much you have collected out of it all and there are quite a few so if there are those people that like to collect things there is something for them. Now with all the things in this game they definitely could have neglected the graphics but they did not they put together a beautiful world with great character graphics. Also if your computer is really great you can turn the graphics up yourself to max to make it look even better or if your computer isn't so great you can turn it down a bit to give your computer a bit of a breather. Now coming from a f2p game I think thats just amazing.

All in all Atlantica Online was made wonderfully they put many great features in to it and some I hadn't even thought of making it one awesome game. It is in closed beta right now so I don't know if you can find a key to get in however the closed beta will be over around the 31st probably. So if your reading this and are disappointed that you now aren't going to get to play it, Open beta starts not to long after so just have some patience and wait a bit and you will be seeing for yourself what I have been talking about.
