Ok, if you do the math it's more or less impossible for there NOT to be other intellegent life out there HOWEVER the likely hood of another species surviving to the point it could travel interstellar space is pretty low. (take us for example...we are either going to roast ourselves inside our own atmosphere or incinerate one another in thermo nuclear fire) (Carl Sagan worked it out once) Now assuming one of these "advanced" species could even find us, the galaxy is a bit large...Hmmm well what would be the point of NOT contacting us? The amount of resources it would take to get here would make it pure insanity not to. If the object was to exploit something here on our world then they would be playing a dangerous game. One thing our species has demonstrated throughout its entire history is our unwavering capacity for war and destruction and our uncanny ability to adapt and survive in just about any environment. "I piddy da fools who mess wit us" Or...they could be scared that we will go after all their alien chicks....but thats sorta disturbing to think about...I can see 3 rednecks and some aliens now........maybe they should leave us alone lol, would you contact us? How long would it take our species to spread across this galaxy if we ever got our hands on FTL technology? There is a scary thought.
My favorite kind of math is the kind that is based around presuppositions and numbers that somebody made up based on postulation.
As for the "there's more evidence for UFO's than there is of the Holocaust" line from the first page...what a load of crap...so there are a few million jews with pictures of UFO's and aliens? And are the pictures super grainy and hard to make out? Because that's the only kind of picture that an alien spacecraft seems to be capable of taking.
Apparently, aliens are not very photogenic.
Good point, from what paranormal researchers have stated the UFO phenomenom appears to be more along the lines of a control mechanism rather than a alien invasion. A thousand years ago it was fairies and spirits now they are space aliens, when it could be something else entirely. But the fact remains whatever it is it is something that cannot be clearly explained.
I highly doubt that any alien species would consider us a threat no matter how warlike we are. Any species that has the will to get to space will in all likeliness be more than capable of war(and willing to do so if there's a need.), even if two species are the same technological level meet they'll likely have the some similar thought processes going on on both sides.
That's just a lame law of evolution I made up now, perhaps I'll write a story about it some day, though it does make some sense.
I find it amazing that by 2020 first world countries will be competing to get immigrants.
While I it probable that life exists elsewhere in the Universe (it's a big place, after all), whether any of it has visited us is a very different question and one I think very improbable -- not impossible, just improbable.
As for all the "evidence" provided to substanciate it: what I've seen so far seems to be hearsay and/or highly disputable, or it comes from sources I do not deem credible.
I think it'd be pretty neat to have friendly aliens show up, but I very much doubt that any have or will in the foreseeable future.
Oh I believe in life outside of Earth, even that it exists or at least existed in a very primitive(single-celled) form on at least one of the planets (hi Mars) in our very solar system.
Getting people to believe in something outside of the box is extremely difficult, especially if it implies a harsher tomorrow, nobody wants to be that weirdo conspiracy alarmist. For example, people flatly deny that we are in a recession or that the banks are in trouble. Another depression? Now don't be silly!
Yeah...no. If aliens landed all over the Earth tomorrow, and came out waving their hands in greeting, people still wouldn't believe it. It would take months, years, and in some cases people would never believe it was true.
Do I believe they are visiting us right now? I doubt it.
Has the government built working saucer/spinning craft? YES. They look exactly like the UFOs people claim to be seeing, and a documentary on the History channel, or one of those, aired years ago.
I think they look just like UFOs, because they are the UFOs.

LOL although i have never seen a UFO, i believe that it exists. and i also believe that nothing is impossible. all that we know is surely limited.
