I have vista 64 bit and downloaded the current station launcher to do the trial planetside, as planetside does not work with vista, i tried all the suggested steps such as switching compatibility (i tried every past microsoft os), disabling the last three visual options, and disabling the sidebar. When I try to switch the compatibility to windows 95, i get a message saying it is an unsupported os by the station launcher, thus the fix that seems to work for vista users is not availible to me. If anyone can direct me to a possible fix, I would appreciate it.

Having the same problem now as well, I got it to play on Vista last year sometime but im just not up to the tast of having to go through all that BS of fixing crap agian this year.
I think I found my fix on the official forums in the tech forums section somewhere.. So you might wanna try there.
On a side note once agian the PS devs show their ignorance by not comming up with a fix long ago for this problem.. THey just don't seem to want this game to go anywhere but down. With the merging of the servers and bigger pops many old timers would have loved to come back and resub, but many of us have Vista and don't feel like having to put up trying to get this crappy game to work with it.

You see, every mammal on this planet instinctively develops a natural equilibrium with their surrounding environment, but you humans do not. You spread to an area, and you multiply, and you multiply, until every natural resource is consumed. The only way you can survive is to spread to another area. There is another organism on this planet that follows the same pattern. Do you know what it is? A virus. Human beings are a disease, a cancer of this planet.-Mr.Smith
STILL NO FIX ?
WTG SOE....
As much as I like to rag on SOE, you can't really blame them this time. Most games won't run on Vista. Your best bet is to roll back to XP if you can. Try Vista again in a couple of years when they have the bugs worked out. Better still, just get a new computer in a couple of years and keep and older computer with XP to play your older games on. Thats what I'm going to do.
