Just watched gameplay footage of a White Lion

And I gotta say, I honestly could not tell if i was watching gameplay from WoW or WAR. The graphics, the pet commands, hell even the party interface and NPC target-faces looks the same.

I have to agree with ya there...you cant compare a game with a game from a simple video...it's like saying hamburgers are discusting when you're 3yrs old, (I personally like hamburgers :P) but when you try it you think it's WAY better than you thought and you want more, then instead of looking at it like all that pudding mush baby crap you look at it like a mans food...MEAT! WoW is McDonalds and WAR is a world famous bar that has been designed for years while WoW just put whatever was on the market and dumbed it down...
because an AoC player coming to the WAR forums to post how its exactly the same as WoW is... so new. The troll has arrived and now prepare to see the fans attack...

Im not talking about content, or how fun the game will be. I'm sure it will be a blast. What I am saying is that it looks very similar to WoW. A lot of people, myself included, do not like the cartoony feel of WoW. Everything in this game screams WoW, from the interface, character models, to the movement and combat. Lets just say they both look like hamburgers to me.
Heh...I never tohught of that since you said it...would make sense since someone from AoC would say that, the graphics arent OMG PWNZ! Kung Fu Action Jesus himself made it! then that means that it's WoW...sad....

Umm....I'm in denail? Okay hold on lemme find some screenies....and like I said it has the same 'feeling' thats all thats similiar...but saying I'm in denial is alittlle well...off...and yes, people from AoC are pretty much a different species in a MMO, most people just joined because it had good graphics, boobies, and a 'different' not good combat system, yes its different not in a bad way but not in a good way...
Alright err....as you can see the WAR's orc looks clearly pwnage and he looks like he'd actually be an 'orc' and by that someone who's actually brutal. WoW's orcs fingers arent even clearly figured correctly. And they look like they're just green humans who are mutants basically...
do you know why? WARHAMMER has always had this style..and Blizzard literally ripped off the graphical art of WOW from WARHAMMER. Why should WAR have to change because WOW "borrowed" their art style, which has been around since the 80s
I like the graphics... and I like WAR, sad that choppas got took out, even though im gonna be a black orc.
But ummm i can see the resemblance... WAR is much better details and the actual models look nothing like wow, but its kind of the same cartonish looks, except for WAR mixes some photorealism with it, if that makes sense.
Like a fusion of cartoon and realistic.

so you're saying they both seem to come from the same roots, but in no way look identical. you sir seem to have a good grasp at reality. I suggest you help out the OP with some of that.

there are two things that WAR and WOW are similar in
1.they both have a cartoony feel
2.they both are based off warhammer lore
I'm gonna agree with ya as a fact that they "borrowed" the art style. But WoW's so colorful and it looks nothing like its in a war or anything...WAR's graphics look like a war has taken place because its like a wasteland...and like I said deep in texture...WoW has a reason to have crappy graphics because it was made in 04...I think? But WAR's been made and reworked from 06-08 (I think????) so they clearly had time to texturize and deepen the effect and actually make it 'WAR' Plus many people are saying WoW's beta went so smoothly...well that's because it takes barely even a decent pc to play it good. WAR's betas going tough because they need to test all certain ways of the game and see its strong spots and weak spots. Plus it takes a better rig.

Both games have typical fantasy races such as Elves, Orcs and Dwarves, even though Warhammer is one of the older IPs, OH NOEZ it's so similar to WoW.

The funny thing is that I like the idea that WAR white lion is similar to WoW tamer. After all, WoW ripped off UO's animal tamer skill and did a fairly good job of it, so if WAR has echos of WoW tamer it's no bad thing.
Of course that said ... UO did animal tamer best, no game other than pre-CU SW:G has come close to that level of freedom to chose, tame, and train pets. But the good thing is that at least in WAR I can hope they add more choice in pet selection when they add wood elves, and/or clan moulder skaven
They both look similar and the gameplay is also not that different. As they keep saying in reviews, if you've played WoW, you'll fell right at home in WAR. The mechanics of the game are different though, ie focus on RvR rather than PvE.
I don't see the point really of posting concept art. The WAR pictures which people are posting are not true screen shots. Some of the classes pictured aren't even in the game. Most of us have seen real WAR videos and they look very similar to WoW. I mean, it's a little better, but it ain't a huge difference. I guess the question is, what is the game play like, and that I don't know.

Why do people put up screenshots comparing WoW to Warhammer? They always put up a picture of very nice armor in Warhammer (Made High level) and a Picture of WoW level 10 armor. I think a closer comparison would be the pictures below.

I support both games and look forward to WAR. Please stop posting (low level WoW) armor and comparing it to high level (Warhammer armor)
WAR orcs would pass as one of the creatures from Monsters Inc., too childish design to my taste.
If you are not sure what game you are playing you need to check the login screen. What pet class in wow does melee? Yeah, Hunters... really? if you're a melee hunter you fail at your class.
Why do people its a smart thing to run aroun talking shit about toher mmos when they havn't even played a release version of the game they protect.

Treefitty - do you think it makes the WoW orc look any more intimidating? No, not really. He's only wearing molten, rocky armor (and doesn't get burned. Genius right?) He still looks like a muscular human with a hunchback, 'cept you conviniently can't see it as well because he has that helmet on. Again, his face will be perfectly normal when he takes it off, not a smoldering pile of ash. Genius.
