The file that I've downloaded twice now from the DDO site is the high res one: DDO-US-M6.0-Downloader-HighRes.exe. While in the process of downloading it says that the checksum fails on the highres data file and the sound file. It ignores the problems and continues downloading. I install the game and it says both of those files are corrupted so I look in the game folder and neither of them are there and I can't play the game. I noticed that the standard resolution download file says M7 and the high res one says M6. So does high res not work with module 7 yet or have they just not switched the download files out yet? Is standard res much worse than high res? I appreciate any help you can give.

That is interesting. I looked myself and sure enough there is a mod 7 standard download and a mod 6 high-res download.
Have you posted this on the official DDO forums in the guest section? I know it's a pain but the Turbine people may not know there is a problem and they can look into it.
As for comparing high-res with standard. The high-res client looks much more crisp and detailed than the standard. I think it is worth it.
Goodluck I hope you get it working and sorry I couldn't be of any help in fixing the error other than suggesting you post it on the ddo forums.

Meh, I have the retail version and it just won't run. Guess I won't be coming back to the game after all
