coming back?

Was just wondering if this game is worth coming back to? I tried to play it yesterday on a free trial and noticed (elementalist start back in 04) that I started as a wizzard in a tutorial realm. Kinda missed starting in the woods out in the middle of nowhere. Has it changed alot since 2004?

There have been a lot of changes for sure, but it's still DAoC... if that makes any sense.    As you have already noticed, they have made the game a bit more "newb friendly" as well as changed the quest system slightly.  The realm abilities are a bit beefed up as well, which you will find out when you run across those high RR enemies.  Overall however it is the same game, so if you liked it then, you will still enjoy it now.

If you have not heard the buzz about the "origins" server you should check it out.  That alone is worth coming back, whenever it is released that is.

Thank you I guess I have a lot of reading to do. Read up on the origon servers and that sounds like my cup of tea. Just hope My char is still around been inactive for bout 3 years now.

Only had one toon. Was a fire wizzard with some good playermade gear free curtusy an officer. Also missed starting out in a place far away not knowing what to do with no one around. Meet a cool person that gave me gold stuck me on a horse and should me where to go. The main thing I missed about this game was friendly people. I started in Guildwars (since beta) cause it's free but now you can't get a party to save your life and the game is now about to die. GW2 Should be better since it's an MMO. Just want to come back to where I started where Everyone pretty much helps Everyone no matter how gimped they are.

DAoC is still a great MMO, but it is a bit dated at this point.  I would recommend just waiting on WAR.  It's from Mythic and they are using all the great features in DAoC as a corner stone.  It will be out at the end of September just hold off till then.

Not flaming here, but I don't really agree with the whole "wait for WAR" thing, Although made by the same company, and obviously has things in common, and I do think WAR will be a great game! It is not DAoC, Its not set in the same setting, not the same classes, its Warhammer and Camelot, And as I said WAR is a great game with its own unique "feeling" it will not satisfy a DAoC Crave. Again my opinion, based on my experiences.

Thank you I feel the same WAR is not DAoC so why would I wait for WAR to come out.
