This game brings the independence of a 1-player console RPG to the MMO world. I am about level 10 now in the closed beta and I still feel like I can play this game on and on. At first I felt like it might get reptitive quickly with the same attacks and whatnot but with all the upgrades to your weapons, armors, and different ways of crafting, this game will keep you busy for quite a while (and staying busy, isn't that what games are for?)

Besides that, from what I see you can join guilds and guilds can run certain towns (I havent looked into this but it seems like they can set their own rates perhaps and collect money from what is bought?)

Overall, pretty cool game, especially if you hate hunting for a group all the time.

yeah the game lacks having lots of skills, not sure if this is done to make the combat easyer or not but i would personally like having more than 1-4 skills per character.

that being said, the game gets more interesting once you join a guild. ireally like how they made the guild system.  it incorporates leveling the guil itself, accumulating guild points through various means, and the addition of nations being able to be created...you also get to war with other nations which i cant wait to try.

they also have a good craft system, you can make just about any item in game if you skill your crafts high enough.

*edit* i just found out that there are cross class skill "combos" like casting a shaman dot then a swordman dot would combine to a new skill...adds a new demension, and since this is kinda new, not all of the comobs have been found.

you choose your main characters starting weapon (class) after that you hire mercenaries..up to 9 later on to fight with you.  skill is involved with what class of mercenaries, but also where they are placed.  the front 3 are typically tanks ect.

how you fight is that you click on your guy, then click on the mob you want to attack, in its simplest form. right click is melee and left click would be a skill or magic selected. you do have a timer, and there are lots of variable as to which guy you can use to attack and what mob he can attack, based on action points, type of weapon, skills, what class of mob. also aoe damage is a factor based on the weapon used and the formation of the enemy.

as far as order of fighting goes...its up to you really up to a point. each fighter has action points that are used by various activites....if their action points are too low, from say using a nuke type attack, they may not have the points to go next round.   this isnt a game where you set each mercenary to attack, then hit "next turn" repeatedly during battle.  you will have to tell each character where to attack (later there is auto fight function but ive been told in game, only really helpful for grinding easy mobs and most likely a cash shop item)

so battle tend to be fast paced when fighting easyer mobs and more skill and thought intensive when battling stronger mobs.

so what it all amounts to is something much diffrent from the typical "click mob+ spam number keys...repeat" although dont be fooled, you will grind here just like any other mmo.

  • This game is great. I am a big Final Fantasy fan and the combat system in this game is cracking! Top game.
