No monthly fee confirmed yet, what are you willing to pay?
Theres been discussions over at the main website on monthly fees.
Not been a word from Developers yet on rates and nothing is confirmed.
What do you see as a fair monthly fee for a game like Darkfall on a good publish and a polished game?
Id pay 40$ if game is as good as we all hope.
Seems AoC charges europeans a higher monthly payt hen americans and what do you think, should that happen in Darkfall too?
I dont think so, why should Europeans sponsor Americans gameplay?

The exchange rate is a bit wonky between EUR and USD right now because the American federal reserve has kept a very low interest rate for several years in an effort to stave off a recession. That means the price of borrowing is lower, but consquently so are the returns on investments which causes speculators and investors to move their money out of US markets in other markets (primarily Europe and Japan). So, if you're investing, the dollar isn't worth much, but if you're buying a hamburger or a video game you it's probably worth about the same as a Euro.
To make a long story short, if you want to pay $15 USD a month, move to the US. You'll get a Big Mac meal there for about half of what you pay in 'average europe' and a car for about 60%.

Do we really get charged more than americans for AoC? i mean i know we get charged tax on our charges but that's law. but do we actualy get charged more by FC too? it's like each day i learn a lesson lol.

answer me this...why havent they let ANY big name gaming media in to see and play the game? EVERY game allows some sort of preview, even if its only the first level, for big game media. It's one of the best marketing tool there is. Woo the media, you got money made.

yes but look how much money it made funcom at launch, just getting the hype out. And who is the other person from the media they let in? Some guy named ASP who noone's ever heard of? the women gamer media who was sat in a "green room" and was not allowed to see the game until the next day, when she had to leave? Pray tell..who of a reputable, and outside the forum, source, has seen the game?
i heard of asp he played shadowbane there even screenshots with him playing LOd is a big enough guild to trust asp...

In England i am charged £8.95 the vat tax which is something like £3.95.

If the game indeed would turn out as promised i'd be more than happy to pay an above standard 20$ a month, however i have my doubts (grand doubts) about this game, can't be arsed putting my hopes up for another Duke Nukem Forever.
i have my doubts if they dont do stress testing before... they release LOL
Why would anyone want to pay over the market rate for a game? By doing just damages the market as costs rise and those that are on the cusp of being able to afford playing the game might have to drop out.
For me I would only ever pay the usual $15.
Darkfall does look interetsing but all the bad media has kind of put me off watching the developement. Once I see something concrete, i.e. from the gaming industry or gaming media I will far more happy to join in on the hype
Hey, if the game actually turns out to contain all the features they've promised and plays well, they'll have pulled off a gaming miracle and I'll be more than happy to pay them 20 bucks /mo to play the game.

Well i currently pay 30 USD for 2 EVE accounts so that I can play that game the way I want to. I'd be happy to pay the same for DF access (single account) if it gave me similar utility to what I get from my 2 EVE accounts (and if it launches close to feature complete then i think it will... but as Kyleran said, thats a very big if)
big game media doesnt mean anything in my eyes any more sadly... not after AOC
