Gamestop just sent me a e-mail saying it's going to be shipped 09/16/08.

Yes, the server times also make me think this might be legit. I really doubt gamestop would just throw that out there.

It could be the same or it could be a wide variety of difference,take AoC was only a few days but if I remember right WoW was a couple of months,I guess we will have to wait and see,remember mythic havent said anything yet either for US or europe.
edit-here is a quote from C&VG about the europe release,now it may not mean anything as mythic didnt announce the release date in the US either but you can read into it what you will..

Gamespot just changed their date as well. From 9/23 to 9/18.
Amazon also changed their date from 9/30 to 9/18

I just updated my Amazon order and it shows delvery by the 19th now hope it holds.

Someone on the Ten Ton Hammer forums wondered if the date was adjusted because the 18th (the date set in the Gamestop letter for when the servers open) may be the "Early Start" for the CE and the 23rd the general release date.
LATE EDIT: I'm seeing the 16th for non-CE boxes too, so I should probably read a bit more before commenting. :>
I thought about that but my ship date with Amazon is listed as the 16th with delivery by the 19th, And several other sites are stating to show the 16th.
I think I have a "cold" coming on! Yes, it must be a cold to manifest itself on Sept. 18th! I don't think I'm going to be able to work on that day!
