Says the serial code is valid but can not be used on any of my existing acounts. Um what?

Depends on the type of code you have.
You cannot use a trial code on a previously existing account.
You cannot use an invite back code to create a new account.
You cannot use an invite back code if your existing account has been inactive for less than 90 days.
