Just been reading up on the latest news on Biowares mmo. Now lets not debate what Genre the game is set in (wink wink, Clone wars anyone?)
But if this game is due to be released 09, isnt it time just to let us know whats actually going on Bioware?

My guess is we'll get some news to coincide with the Clone Wars animated movie.

There is no reason to debate what "genre" (I think you mean time period) that the game will be set in...it will be set in the old republic, since it is, afterall, Knights of the old republic....

Many of us, not just Vets but even amongst those few still playing the NGE, think Jestor has proved to be a dought and amusing lobbyist against the way SOE treats its customers.

Many of us, not just Vets but even amongst those few still playing the NGE, think Jestor has proved to be a dought and amusing lobbyist against the way SOE treats its customers.
Jestor is funny but I don't really see any reason to put negative comments on those that still play. There is no way that the current SWG player base can give anyone (including SOE) the idea that the NGE was a good thing.
Obviously the majority voicing their opinion with the cancel option (not many people post on forums overall) should have shown anything that needed to be shown.
One thing I can say for myself is...
If biowares MMO is just another class/level piece of *edit* I won't be playing it along side anyone. (that's me.. period).

Name me a big-name MMO that does NOT have Official Forums.
LotRO, WoW, AoC (snicker), EQ2, all have Official Forums.
Guild Wars is the only big-name that doesn't have Official Forums that I can recall off the top of my head. But almost all the big boys have them.
Also, Bioware ALREADY has Official Forums for the myriad of games they have released already. They even have a subforum for their original KotOR.
So, looking at the trend, and the history from Bioware itself, and considering that Star Wars is a huge name in itself... this Bioware SW MMO will have an Official Forum.

They'll ban them if they become too disruptive...problem solved...Bioware doesn't need a couple hundred loud ass annoying fanboys screaming about how this game should have been a sand box, they'll have a million or so other players who will gladly give them the monthly fee.
These delusions of grandeur that some SWG vets have about destroying SOE, or whatever the hell it is that they think they have accomplished are just that - delusions...You aren't going to put even the slightest dent in Bioware no matter how loudly you cry when you find out that you're not getting what you want.
Draenor - Launch vet of SWG, one of the first players on Chilastra to become a bounty hunter...Don't tell me that I just don't understand what the SWG players went through.

If you actually read anything about Bioware's MMO, you would know a couple of things:
1.) There is no debate to be had even if we wanted to.
2.) The "genre" (you mean setting) is the old republic.
I see so many people with wrong assumptions about this. It's an MMO. It's being made by Bioware. It's a Star Wars game. It's set in the old republic. Originally, it was said they were targeting a 2009 release, but in an interview with someone not directly on the team it was said it could be closer to 2010/2011. Nothing else has been made public. These are simple facts, not assumptions or inferences.
I apologize for being over-the-top mean, but come on people.

Oh ya, millions of other fans you say? Is it because it is a Star Wars MMO? If I remember correctly, the last MMO that was a Star Wars MMO didn't quite hit that amount of people.
Is it because its going to be anti-sandbox, possibly similar to WoW? If I remember correctly, all the other WoW clones didn't quite hit that either.
Or is it because it's a Bioware game? Maybe I'll give you that one, but I'm skeptical they'll hit millions just on fan-support.

Mark my words. The game will be very linear and heavily instanced (if not entirely instanced). Bioware is wanting to bring their great storytelling (which is fantastic for a single player RPG) prowess into the MMO genre. It won't work and millions of angry Star Wars fan's screams will be heard as they cancel their accounts.
